It’s drama after drama in this series, and it’s not exactly obvious where the ending is leading to, but this penultimate chapter gives audiences an idea.
“This Is Happening” opens with Kayla practicing for singles skating, with Elina coaching her while Mac is getting back into the groove with hockey. Mac wants to improve his relationship with his sister as he’s not happy that they’ve fallen apart recently. The siblings speak, and Mac is upset as he feels like he’s lost her — he misses their relationship. They make it up, and their mother is happy to see her children getting along.
Hockey offers and Elina gives Ava comfort
But as always, every time these siblings make friends, an obstacle is thrown at them in this predictable story.
Mac gets a massive offer from the Wolverines, and he’d need to move to the Czech Republic. Suddenly, Kayla gets anxious, believing they will have to move again, as she thought her dream could be realized as well. When they go to practice, Ava is ousted from the team as her father tells the team that he doesn’t want another leak. In a rare moment, her mother comforts her. Ava refuses to give her. She wants to be a Hammer.
Sky tells Mac to take an opportunity
Kayla tells Mac to speak to Kayla about the Wolverines offer in the Czech Republic at the ice rink. While Elina coaches Kayla, she tells her she wants no distractions, no friends or family. Kayla then lets it slip to Sky that they are moving abroad. Sky is shocked and confronts Mac about it — she doesn’t want him to throw away an opportunity for her. When Elina learns of Mac’s opportunity, she tells Kayla that she’s disappointed regarding the situation. She gives Kayla a bracelet and wants her to believe in herself. The bracelet was meant to be for Ava. Another drama is coming her way.

A family decision
Late at night, there’s a family meeting; the parents want Mac and Kayla to be honest about what they really want. Mac wants to stay, and Kayla wants to go. The parents have a plan; the mother stays with Kayla, and the father will move to Prague with Mac. This is a big move by the family, but it means both siblings get what they want. Kayla tells Elina that she’s staying in the UK and says she’s excited for her.
A potential new house
Bear’s father shows his kids a potential house, however, Bear is cynical after his father revealed his bet on the latest Hammers game. Bear asks his father not to bet on the Hammers to lose but to bet them to win. His father tells Bear that they can be a family. Bear doesn’t want to betray his teammates, so his father suggests he persuades his brother to let some goals in. When Bear gets to training, he tells Mac about his predicament; Mac offers to throw the game for him and talks about his offer in Prague.
The ending
Feeling emotional over recent events, Kayla rings Mac, but it goes to voicemail. She decides to leave the single skates event. Meanwhile, Mac tells the Wolverines coach that he wants to accept the offer. In the last twist, the coach tells him the offer is based on his performance, which means Mac cannot throw the game. He has a choice to make.
