This article, “Does Sophie Whitehouse leave her husband, James?” contains spoilers regarding Netflix’s Anatomy of a Scandal season 1.
Sophie Whitehouse is married to James Whitehouse, a government minister. He admits to an affair he had with an underling and she later accuses him of rape. Despite this, Sophie stands by her husband. Even though later, James, under oath, tells a story about how he and Olivia were in love. All the instant attraction and sordid details. She manages to keep her composure, mostly having anxiety attacks alone so no one sees her.
However, her faith in James slowly begins to wither. His story keeps changing almost daily. Initially, the affair was just sex, but now he described under oath how he was in love with her. He is accused of rape by Olivia and he tells his wife he did not do it. However, an administrator from Oxford has come forward and claims James was accused of rape in college. By who, you ask? Sophie’s study partner, Holly Berry. At first, Sophie doesn’t believe it because her husband is adamant he is innocent of this charge as well. It was also the same night that Alec had died, and James asked Sophie to be his alibi. Not to mention, Holly was not his type.
Does Sophie Whitehouse leave her husband in season one of Netflix’s Anatomy of a Scandal?
Well, Sophie Whitehouse does decide to leave her husband. James admits he had sex with Holly that night, doesn’t remember that well, but says he has disappointed her in his performance with her being a virgin, so that may be a reason why she is accusing him of rape. After James is acquitted of raping Olivia, his arrogance is full-blown and his wife confronts him about whether he did rape both women. Why? Because Olivia testified that when James said to her, “Stop being such a prick tease,” it sounds like something he would say.
She leaves him, despite him begging her on his knees. She later slips to the press about a cover-up that may actually put him in jail.
The question is: What does Sophie leak to the press?
