Trying is a British comedy series created by Andy Wolton for Apple TV+. The show has run for three seasons now, debuting back in May 2020, and on August 30th, 2022, Apple TV+ renewed it for Season 4, however, there’s still no release date confirmed.

This Apple original series follows the many antics of its adorable lead couple, Nikki and Jason, as they try to start their own family, but are faced with numerous setbacks along the way. Season three focuses on their attempts to foster siblings Princess and Tyler.

Trying Season 4 Updates

January 28th, 2024 Update

It was confirmed back in August 2022 that Trying Season 4 will be happening (confirmed by Apple TV). However, in 2024, we are all still awaiting production details and a solid release date. Some audiences are feeling confused, wondering when we will hear more news:

And this Reddit thread is right – there are little updates on production which is strange when it was renewed over a year ago. One Reddit user said: “I saw a news article they were filming on one of the Spanish islands.” Whether this is just a strong rumor we do not know.

August 26th Update

The current season is still ongoing over at Apple, with episode eight debuting next Friday. There is no word yet on whether a fourth season will be coming to the streaming site, but the idea of a renewal seems highly plausible. Most of their long-running content is renewed around the final episode mark. For All Mankind and Physical have both just been renewed for another season and I would be very surprised if Trying doesn’t garner a similar result. I’d expect an announcement in the next few weeks where they confirm a fourth season.

The third season hasn’t finished yet, but it seems likely that whatever the judge’s decision, there will be another season to binge-watch in 2023. If the judge allows them to keep the children then there are numerous issues that can arise from that situation and of course, if they can’t foster the children, then I am sure they will fight to change that verdict. Either way, fans aren’t quite ready to let this feel-good series go just yet and will want to see the story through to the end. As always, we’ll keep you posted on any updates in the pending renewal of Trying.
