Summary

Chef’s Table: Pizza is a fun addition to the series, highlighted by incredible stories from chefs worldwide.

Netflix reality series Chef’s Table: Pizza season 1 will be released on September 7, 2022.

Another addition to the Chef’s Table series, Chef’s Table: Pizza. Will the pizza be worth the binge? Let’s dive in.

Anyone who knows me knows I am the biggest pizza person in the world. I have tried basically every pizza spot in the Nashville area. When I go out of town, we do our best to find the best pizza spots in the area. So Chef’s Table hitting the pizza side made me happy.

First stop, a pizza spot in Phoenix, and Chris Bianco, who we come to find out was the man that started the revolution of pizza in this country. For many years the pizza world was stagnant with rough sauces and doughs. However, that was until Bianco came along and reinvented the wheel.

When I decided to make pizza, I refused to stay in my line and said, “Fuck it,” I’m going to do things my way. – Ann Kim

My favorite episode of the series was surrounding Ann Kim. When we are introduced to her, she mentions in America, that there isn’t much representation of what an Asian-American can be. For example, whether that is Asian-American women should be quiet or be a model minority, but Kim mentions that she isn’t wired like that.

Kim’s story was inspirational. How she tries to incorporate pizza with her culture to bring something unique to this country. I loved in her story that pizza wasn’t always her first love, but her time in New York made her fall in love with it. She is a certified badass that, after watching this episode, I have added going to her restaurant to my bucket list.

Food is love, and love is food. I don’t think many things are passed down with love more than food recipes. I bet if you do some research in talking with your family, some recipes have been passed down for generations. Around the holidays, I often call my mother to get our family Kiffle recipe, passed down for many years. Our connection with food is much deeper than I think most realize. You hear the stories from these chefs and that love, whether it’s from family or their passion for what they do.

Overall, Chef’s Table continues to provide a fantastic look at the world of chefs and their food. But, I will say, entering the hearts of those who love pizza will only open the door for even more possible collaborations in the future. I can’t wait to see what food they tackle next.
