This article discusses the Netflix series The Brave Ones, including the premise, release date, cast, and trailer.

A new South African series is set to land on Netflix later this month. This time, the offering is a fantasy TV show rooted in the world of African gods and divine beings, and given the summary laid out by the streaming platform, it sounds like it could be one to watch out for.

Like what you’re hearing so far? Here’s everything we know about The Brave Ones:

The Brave Ones premise

As Netflix describes –

“An all-mighty goddess reincarnated as a young woman must harness her divine powers to avenge her sister’s death and protect her family from destruction.”

Our opinion of the premise

This one sounds very interesting! I’m intrigued to find out whether much of the plot of The Brave Ones will be rooted in mythology, as it would seem there is definitely a chance for that to be the case. However, a huge ascension to power and the pull of revenge is an almighty combination. Whilst there will clearly be a lot of conflict amongst the characters featured here, I’d say there will be plenty of inner turmoil for The Brave Ones’ protagonist too.

The Brave Ones release date

The Brave Ones is set to release worldwide on Netflix on 16th September 2022.

Is there a trailer?

Yes – watch it here:

The Brave Ones is certainly set to be a different kind of TV series, and perhaps will be a nice change of pace for Netflix in comparison to some of its other original shows. The mixture of divine powers and revenge themes sounds like an intoxicating combination. It’s a show that seems to promise a lot, so the hope is that it can deliver on those promises. It’s one thing to reach for the stars, but if a show swinging as big as this can grab them, it could turn out to be a very good watch indeed.

You will be able to watch this series with a subscription to Netflix.
