This article discusses whether there will be a season 2 of the K-Drama series Big Mouth and its renewed or cancelled status.

What is season 1 of Big Mouth (K-Drama) all about?

And here is the premise — Park Chang Ho (played by Lee Jong Suk – Romance Is a Bonus Book) is a lawyer with a terrible win rate. But he’s so talkative that people call him “Big Mouth.” To make his life more complicated, he involves himself in a murder case and is nicknamed a genius swindler called “Big Mouse.” Suddenly, Park Chang Ho is in a life-threatening situation.

By his side is his wife, Go Mi Ho (played by Im Yoon Ah), who supports him financially and emotionally. She vows to clear her husband’s name after learning that he is suspected to be the genius swindler “Big Mouse.”

The series is directed by Oh Choon-hwan.

Will there be a season 2 of the K-Drama series Big Mouth – renewed or cancelled status

Status: TBC/ Not renewed yet

As we write this article, Big Mouth has not been renewed for a second season by MBC. However, it’s not unusual for the industry to wait until they decide on renewal. Most K-Dramas tend to enjoy a single-season story and wrap things up conclusively by the finale. So once we have seen the conclusion, we’ll be able to sense what the writers have in mind. However, that doesn’t mean it will not be renewed. While the K-Drama industry tends to enjoy single-season stories, the trend of second and third seasons has increased in the last 12 months.

What about ratings? Will that influence whether there will be a renewal?

Big Mouth has done well in the K-Drama market. Just recently, on September 3rd, 2022, the Korean drama returned to the number 1 spot in ratings on the Friday/Saturday slot, and with the finale only a week away at this point, that is promising. Big Mouth scored an average nationwide rating of 11.4 percent that week, according to Nielsen Korea.
