Where was the Prime Video film My Best Friend's Exorcism filmed?

This article discusses “Where was the Prime Video film My Best Friend’s Exorcism filmed” and may contain minor plot references.

My Best Friend’s Exorcism is an upcoming American supernatural horror film set in the 1980s, directed by Damon Thomas and based on the novel of the same name by Grady Hendrix. The film stars Elsie Fisher, Amiah Miller, Cathy Ang and Rachel Ogechi Kanu.

A story of best friends with supernatural problems. High school sophomores Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade, but after Gretchen begins to act weird and differently, Abby begins to investigate. Finding out some scary conclusions, that her best friend has been possessed, will their friendship survive? Is it powerful enough to beat the devil?

The film will be released this September the 30th on Prime Video and is eagerly awaited by viewers. From watching the trailer, I think this film looks and sounds like a quirky, fun, teenage horror that’ll be cheesy enough to make you love and hate it at the same time.

Where was the Prime Video film My Best Friend’s Exorcism filmed – a breakdown of locations

Georgia, USA

From what I can see, this was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia and filming started in early April of 2021.

The US state of Georgia is becoming a popular place to film, this is probably down to having a huge landscape and because it differs from dense cities. The state holds thick forests and towering skyscrapers so can pull off being used to represent cities such as New York and Toronto, not to mention it will be cheaper and have fewer tourists. Other shows such as Stranger Things and Ozark were filmed in the state, and the hit television series The Walking Dead was filmed in Senoia, Georgia, and the town now consequently offers tours of the show’s most memorable scenes. This is probably why other companies are beginning to see what it has to offer.

There is also a nice, cheeky tax incentive to film there for film companies, so not only do they get a great location with a diverse population, they can save some money too.

Great weather, great film services, I’ll be shocked if I don’t see more TV and Film being filmed there in the coming years.

You can watch this film with a subscription to Prime Video.
