When witchcraft is involved, it’s always an interesting story because anything is possible. The series that are listed below have characters with different powersets and some strong storylines that will connect with audiences everywhere.

Like For Like – 10 series like The Brave Ones you must watch

Hanna (2019)

In equal parts, high-concept thriller and coming-of-age drama the series follows the journey of an extraordinary young girl raised in the forest, as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is. Coming-of-age dramas combined with different concepts always make for an intriguing story. A young girl going on a journey to reveal the truth is similar to the journey she must go on in The Brave Ones. We learn so much at a young age and that’s what this series shows audiences.

Echoes (2022)

Leni and Gina are identical twins who have secretly swapped their lives since they were children, culminating in a double life as adults, but one of the sisters goes missing and everything in their perfectly schemed world turns into chaos. The ideas children have can sometimes make an impact later on in life, and in this case, Leni and Gina wind up in the middle of a difficult situation. What they have to go through in The Brave Ones is similar and young children have to make decisions.

Heroes Reborn (2015)

A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives. Sometimes superhero shows highlight the destruction that heroes can cause in the city and that angle is always more interesting. It’s the way these people with powerful abilities feel for humanity and their world. Powerful beings are more than just their powers and that is shown in The Brave Ones as well.

Witches of East End (2013)

Two sisters, a bartender and librarian, discover as adults that they’re witches with magical powers. They, their mom and her sister, all witches, are up against a mortal enemy. There is always something fun about women and witchcraft and this show has it all. Especially when it involves a family of witches coming together to fight a mortal enemy. The series was short-lived but it did make an impact because of the women on the show at the time.

Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power (2022)

An epic drama set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth. Even though Rings of Power is recent, it’s still a show worth watching that has such strong world-building and the exploration of new powers.

The Sandman (2022)

Upon escaping after decades of imprisonment by a mortal wizard, Dream, the personification of dreams, sets about to reclaim his lost equipment. Even though Neil Gaiman’s work is a bit dark and dense, these characters and the world created for them will have you mesmerized by the work. Another recent series shows the strength of children and the power they have within them enough to save themselves.

Supergirl (2015)

The adventures of Superman’s cousin in her superhero career. Melissa Benoist did a wonderful job as Kara Danvers for six seasons on The CW and it’s an important female-led series. It shows the decisions women make when they have the power of gods within them. Similar to The Brave Ones a young woman explores her powers and uses them to protect her family.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)

As her 16th birthday nears, Sabrina must choose between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. Sabrina Spellman has been around for a long time, whether you were reading Archie comics, or watching the live-action with Melissa Joan Hart, she has been a staple. This Netflix series is a bit darker than what came before it, but that’s why it was so fun to watch.

The Boys (2019)

A group of vigilantes set out to take down corrupt superheroes who abuse their superpowers. The Boys do things differently than other superheroes and that’s okay. They reflect on their powers and the purpose of their existence which is one of the best angles we’ve seen on screen. It’s important to note that once these powers are shown to the world, the perception of the media and people change instantly.

Charmed (2018)

Follows the lives of three sisters who, after the tragic death of their mother, discover they are powerful witches. There are different ways to grieve and these three sisters come together and discover their power within. They navigate life together and can move forward with their powers. In The Brave Ones, she must learn how to use her powers and avenge her sister, so the emotional connection is there.
