Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 4 Review and Plot Summary
Although season 4 technically aired in 2 parts, it is all one long, continuous season. Part 2 picks up right where the first ended, with Bell (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) and his friends trapped at various spots in the Dungeon.
After being summoned to explore floors lower than they ever have before, Bell and his friends find themselves in a predicament when things in the Dungeon do not seem to follow the usual rules they are used to. Floor bosses like Amphisbaena spawn earlier than they’re supposed to, while abominations like the Juggernaut are summoned to the halls of the lower floors to murder everyone in their path. With Bell separated from his party in the deepest, most dangerous floors of the Dungeon, his friends struggle to find him and defeat the many unexpected obstacles that threaten to destroy everything.
Is, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 4 good?
Not only is season 4 of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon good, but I would also argue it’s the best season of the series so far. While the series has always been entertaining to watch, there’s never felt like the stakes were very high, especially in the beginning. The introduction of the Xenos in season 3 is when it finally started to feel like there were consequences for these characters’ actions, despite knowing the past of characters like Ryuu (Saori Hayami).
This season also feels stronger in everything from animation to storytelling to acting. It feels like the series honestly tried to step its game up to improve the viewer’s experience, and it’s working. This anime is starting to feel like it can hold its own against some of the bigger fantasy series now that it’s made these much-needed modifications.
