Black Knight, a dystopian action thriller adapted from the webtoon of the same name by Lee Yun-kyun, is the latest binge-release K-Drama from Netflix. telling an engaging sci-fi story across six very digestible episodes.
Unlike many other recent K-Dramas like The Glory and Queenmaker, Black Knight is very deliberately structured and paced to be appealing to as wide a demographic as possible, helped along by the fact it’s playing in very broad and well-established genres. Here’s a quote from our review:
These two are destined for a mentor/mentee relationship that defines the back half of a season that rockets along at an impressive clip. Black Knight delivers action aplenty in one set piece after another, content to let the worldbuilding and plot details be filled in by ungainly mouthfuls of exposition whenever we stop to take a break.
Since many of Netflix’s K-Drama offerings become exceedingly popular, fans of Black Knight will no doubt be wondering about the show’s potential future. So, here’s everything we know.
Will there be a Black Knight Season 2 on Netflix?
Renewed or canceled status: TBC
At the time of writing, Netflix have not officially renewed or canceled Black Knight, but this is not surprising so soon after its release.
While Korean dramas tend not to have the best track record when it comes to being renewed, it certainly isn’t out of the question. Squid Game is obviously the most prominent example, with what was intended as a limited series being guaranteed a continuation after its immense mainstream popularity.
For once, it doesn’t feel like the showrunners have cynically angled for a sequel by leaving the plot unresolved. The ending of Black Knight is fairly conclusive and satisfying, and if the story was left there, few would complain.
However, there is plenty more source material to adapt, making potential continuations of 5-8 and Sa-wol’s story very viable. It’ll like depend entirely on how well the show performs.

How many Seasons of Black Knight are there?
So far, there is only one season, and Netflix has not yet confirmed how many they plan to do.
With high production value and plenty of work going into the first season, even if a second and third season was confirmed, we’d be likely waiting a while before we saw more of this story.
