Ultraman is an anime directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki. So far, we have three thrilling seasons of the popular property, but Ultraman has a rich heritage behind it too.
The character has been on screen since 1966, with a television series from Japan, and was also a manga series written by Eiichi Shimizu with art by Tomohiro Shimoguchi. The exciting series would feature plenty of bouts with Kaiju and alien invaders and lead to a spin-off series titled Ultraseven.
As well as the TV Show and the manga, we were treated to the characters from the franchise appearing in Marvel comic books, films, novels, and all kinds of merchandise. It is a very popular property and has fans all across the world.
The character is also a very lucrative property, worth literally billions, and is comparable to Superman in its pop cultural relevance.
The show follows high school student Shinjiro Hayata, who discovers that he inherited superhuman powers from his father, Shin, who was the original Ultraman. An alien invasion leads Shinjiro to take the mantle of Ultraman and provide a defense against the invading horde.
Season three has twelve episodes for fans to get through, with each episode running for around thirty minutes,
This article, however, will look at the current iteration of the character and answer the questions that fans have been asking: will there be a season four of Ultraman?
Will there be a Season 4 of the anime series Ultraman – renewed or canceled status
The sad news for the fans of Ultraman is that the current series has not been renewed, so there will not be a season four of the anime. It seems that the decision to end the show with season three had been made at the time of production, so at least there was a conclusion to the narrative.
The current state of streaming platforms often leaves lovers of shows at a loose end, with no real conclusion being reached, but at least with Ultraman season three, the showrunners knew the story was ending and managed to conclude things satisfactorily.
Fans will no doubt be upset with the news, but on the plus side, there is plenty of content in other forms for fans to look at. It is also safe to assume that this very popular property may see another reboot after the cancellation of this particular series.
You can’t keep a good Ultraman down, and it may not be too long before there are more adventures for the shining character in some form or another.
Recently there have been a few marvel comics mini-series featuring the character, and the issue has been collected into trade paperbacks if you are looking to read further adventures.
I really hope they do a season 4
