We discuss the Ending of the 2023 film Fast Ten which will contain spoilers.
Dominic Toretto and his gang of “family is what you make it” return for Fast Ten, and they are about to pay for their past transgressions. This time, after gathering around the same picnic table for twenty years, Cipher shows up later that night. She barely escaped certain death from Dante Reyes, the son of the former Portuguese kingpin killed years ago during Fast Five.
Her message for Dom is that Dante is coming for him, and she’s telling Dom because the enemy of her enemy is his enemy. Translation — warn Dom so he can kill Dante before he tracks Cipher down again.
Fast Ten Ending Explained
How does Dante Reyes tie in the Fast & Furious franchise timeline?
The film begins with a flashback to Fast Five when Dom and Brian stole the bank vault containing Dante’s father’s fortune. Now, Dante is present during the heist and chases the duo alongside his father. In this version, the film unveils scenes that fans were not privy to.
Dante is knocked off the highway and into the water, while his father, Hernan, is killed. Dante seeks revenge on Dom, his entire family, friends, and anyone who helped him.
Why did Jacob have to die?
Jacob dies when he sacrifices himself to help Dom save his son, Brian Marcos. During the film, Dante grabs Brian out of Jacob’s car during a high-speed chase. With Jacob in his car, which has a leaky fuel line, and Dom about to be stopped by vehicles equipped with military artillery, Jacob chooses to crash his car into Dante’s paid mercenaries.
We presume Jacob is dead because they all explode into fireballs when he collides with the vehicles. This allows Dom to chase after Dante and save his son’s life.
Were any major characters killed off in Fast Ten?
Although no official declarations of death are made, in addition to Jacob, we believe that Jacob, Roman, Tej, Ramsey, and Han were killed. Aimes fires a missile at the plane while flying in to assist in the rescue of Dom and Brian, resulting in one of its engines being taken out. Their last sighting occurs when the plane crashes into a mountain a few miles away.
However, the Fast & Furious franchise has yet to confirm anyone’s demise officially. (Seriously, can someone please bring back Chad Lindberg?). This lack of certainty is unfortunate, especially considering that someone close to Han returns from the dead at the end of the movie.
Who came back from the dead in Fast Ten?
Gisele returns from the dead in Fast Ten! The last time we saw Gisele, she died in Fast & Furious 6, leaving her beloved Han heartbroken. This time, as Letty and Cipher escape from a black site in the Antarctic, a submarine breaks through the ice to welcome them. After the massive vessel settles, Gisele emerges from the hatch, wearing a radiant smile that captivates both Cipher and Letty.
Why does Aimes double-cross Dominic?
Aimes double-crosses Dominic because we learn that the new head of the agency has been in Dante’s family’s pocket since Fast Five. Aimes was supposed to find a spot to land the plane and help rescue Dom and his son.
However, after Aimes fires off the handheld missile, it’s revealed that he was there with Dante when Dom and Brian stole Hernan’s vault full of money. As he tells Dom over the radio, “Not everyone becomes family.”
Does Fast Ten end on a cliffhanger?
Yes, Fast Ten ends on a cliffhanger. The final scenes depict Dom and Brian standing at the bottom of a ravine, having survived an explosion that sent their car down the cement dam. Both Dom and Brian manage to survive and are safe. Dom proceeds to hug his son, offering comfort.
However, Dante strategically placed gigantic bombs on each side of the dam, demonstrating his thorough planning. He activates the bombs, and we witness Dom turning to grab his son. The sound of the detonating bombs and the rush of water can be heard, but then the screen cuts to the end credits.
Does Fast Ten have a post-credits scene?
Yes, Fast Ten features a post-credits scene, and it reveals the return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Luke Hobbs. In the scene, the former Diplomatic Security Service agent conducts a raid on a theater, and a cell phone starts ringing. The agent’s face is concealed, but he answers the phone, and it’s Dante on the other end. Dante says to the agent, “Dom drove the car, but you pulled the trigger.”
At that moment, the agent removes his helmet, unveiling Luke Hobbs’ return to the Fast & Furious franchise. Hobbs responds, saying, “I’m not hard to find, sumbitch.” As a reminder, Hobbs shot and killed Dante’s father, Hernan, at the end of Fast Five.
