I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson Season 3 Review
I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson Season 3 continues to pick up where Robinson invites special guests to spend each segment trying to make people leave.
In the day and age of social media and short-form content, Tim Robinson’s schtick seems so forced and out of touch. Each segment of each episode felt like something straight out of the 90s, where we might have all laughed together. From making fun of reality TV to game shows to road rage, it’s nothing we haven’t seen before. Sure, it’s hard to write new content we haven’t seen, but when trying to use the material we’ve seen before, at least try to freshen it up or alter it to make it funny.
The writing and production made this show’s first two seasons work so well. The bits were always top-notch because of the things surrounding Robinson and his guests. So when you take those two things out of the equation, you get lackluster results.
Each episode runs around that sixteen-minute mark, making for an easy binge with only six episodes. However, I may have laughed two to three times within those six episodes. I’ve seen Jackass skits that are funnier in one episode than this entire sketch comedy series.
Typically the best parts of these sketch comedy episodes are the guest stars. But how do you relegate the hilarious Will Forte to a horrendously unfunny joke where his hair is stuck to the bottom of his car? Or take Sam Richardson and make him a side piece that doesn’t allow him to be as funny as he is? It’s wildly absurd that all of these funny comedy geniuses are not used to the best of their abilities.
Is I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson good or bad?
Tim Robinson might have overstayed his welcome with the third season. The writing within each episode felt so underwhelming, lackluster, and full of bits that aren’t funny. Time and time again, I had hoped there were only one or two episodes that were not great, but as each episode passed, they seemingly got worse.
Is I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson worth watching?
I fully understand that Tim Robinson comes from the world of Saturday Night Live, but I didn’t expect to watch his comedy fall flat on its face as that show has. From outdated jokes to the lack of laughs, I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson has taken a massive step in the wrong direction. It’s an underwhelming season and I couldn’t wait for it to end.
