Sweatshop is the 2009 horror-slasher film, which is directed and edited by Stacy Davidson. Starring Peyton Wetzel, Ashley Kay, Melanie Donihoo, and more, this film follows the classic teen-horror drama, filled with gore, suspense, and danger. 

The story surrounds a group of thrill-seeking friends who decide to break into an abandoned factory, wanting to throw a dramatic, once-in-a-lifetime party. While exploring, they discover that it appears not to be empty, and they’re not alone.

Audiences love horror, thriller, and slasher films, from the mild jump scare to the almost unwatchable gore. There are many reasons for this, learning skills, thinking about how you would act in that situation, and some people love to be scared.

Psycho Ward (2007) 

In this horror-slasher film, audiences are treated to watching a group of researchers wanting to discover the dark secrets of an abandoned detention center. Little do they know they have caught the attention of a killer, who begins to stalk them. They begin to disappear one by one, and while desperate for an escape, they realize death is the only way out. 

I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

Here we have a classic horror-slasher film starring Freddie Prinze Jr, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, and similar to Sweatshop, the film sees a group of four friends accidentally run over a man, and dump his body to keep it a secret. One year later, eerie bad things happen in their lives.

Cabin in the Woods (2011)

Just like Sweatshop, this film is about a group of friends who unknowingly summon a family of murderous zombies and become involved in a ritual of human sacrifice held to please cruel subterranean deities. It’s set in the woods, secluded and alone, to add the extra fear factor. 

Saw (2004)

This film is making the list of thriller-gore fans. Back in 2004, this film was all the rage and has grown such a large audience it’s become a massive franchise. In this first film, two men awaken on opposite sides of a dead body, with specific instructions to kill the other or face consequences. They are now the victims of the Jigsaw killer. 

The Bunnyman Massacre (2011)

The Bunnyman Massacre is an American slasher film written, directed, and produced by Carl Lindbergh. The film has a group of friends who are terrorized by a clan of cannibals, including a madman in a rabbit suit, in remote California.

Slumber Party Massacre (1982)

High school senior Trish decided to throw a house party while her parents were away. Things go very wrong when an escaped killer with a power drill is in the neighborhood. Cheesy, bloody, and brutal horror film. 

Black Christmas (1974)

Another classic horror-thriller film every horror fan should see. Similar to Sweatshop, there is a group of young adults being terrorized. In this film, a group of sorority sisters begins to receive freaky phone calls. Soon people start to go missing from the house, and a local adolescent girl is murdered, leading the girls to suspect a serial killer is on the loose.

Pig (2010)

Pig is a horror film directed by Adam Mason starring Molly Black, Guy Burnet, and Andrew Howard. The story surrounds a man who lives in his caravan in the desert with a mentally handicapped woman he keeps in a cage. He abducts people and keeps them prisoner. It’s a dark horror, which is sure to keep you up at night. 

Scream (1996)

Scream is a brilliant horror franchise with a total of six films; there’s a star-studded cast and freaky, scary storylines to delve into. Scream is an American murder mystery and slasher film, where one year after Sidney’s mum is murdered, more murders start to happen. Suspecting these murders are related, she tries to find the killer.

Wrong Turn (2003)

Ending this list with another big horror-slasher franchise you should invest in. This American slasher film series is created by Alan B. McElroy and consists of seven films, six sharing the same continuity, and the final one is a reboot. Just like Sweatshop, the film follows a group of friends getting into serious trouble.

These six individuals begin to be stalked by a cannibal family in the woods. Merging classic horror tropes, these films really bring the fear factor.
