10 Movies like Sick of Myself you must watch

We discuss 10 Movies like Sick of Myself you must watch. Add these well-recommended and highly-rated films to your watch list.

In 2022, Sick of Myself flew under the radar, and people missed out on a pretty fun movie.

The film is about this girl who is overshadowed by her boyfriend’s recent rise to fame as a contemporary artist creating sculptures from stolen furniture. Signe (Kristine Kujath Thorp) hatches a vicious plan to reclaim her rightfully deserved attention within the milieu of Oslo’s cultural elite.

If you like a good revenge story or find embarrassing moments entertaining, then the films on the list below all have that.

There’s building tension, horrible decisions, and some hysterical moments that will make you appreciate the cooky nature of these stories.

10 Movies like Sick of Myself

The Agent (2008)

It’s all in a day’s work for a high-flying literary agent Alexander; manuscripts to read, deals to be done, celebrity clients to be taken out to lunch, but first, there is an author to deal with whose latest book the agent thinks is, frankly, not up to scratch.

This comedy takes you through the publishing process and everything that needs to be done to get some literary work out there. Every industry has its hardships. And that’s why films like this are necessary.

Ninjababy (2021)

Astronaut, forest keeper, and cartoonist Rakel has a whole lot of other plans than becoming a mother. She would rather party, get drunk, or stoned instead of sitting for hours doing nothing, but she can’t ignore it. She doesn’t know if it’s her who’s changing or if it’s the baby growing inside her.

The responsibility you have to your child is unlike anything else, so to turn your life around entirely is a decision that needs to be made before bringing a child into this world.

Shiva Baby (2020)

Newcomer Emma Seligman created a coming-of-age film for this generation. At a Jewish funeral service with her parents, a college student runs into her sugar daddy and ex-girlfriend. It is a perfect mixture of tension and such a smart comedy that will keep you on the edge of your seat during one short day.

Citizen Ruth (1996)

An irresponsible, drug-addicted, recently impregnated woman finds herself in the middle of an abortion debate when both parties attempt to sway her to their respective sides. Co-written and directed by Alexander Payne, Laura Dern is a delight in this.

She commits to the crazy bits and is endearing at the same time.

Dark Habits (1983)

Pedro Almodovar has such a unique filmography, and he shows life in an imperfect way. A nightclub singer seeks refuge with gay nuns on dope in a Madrid convent.

Of course, this was seen as risque in the 80s because of its subject matter, but Almodovar created something that people can somewhat relate to.

Triangle of Sadness (2022)

In Ruben Ostlund’s greedy, privileged satire, a fashion model celebrity couple joins an eventful cruise ship for the super-rich. Even though this film does overstay its welcome, the cast is hilarious, and the jabs they take on the upper class are perfect.

Each scene becomes more ridiculous than the last making this a memorable film. It’s whacky, but the themes are important to explore today because of influencers and the culture.

Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022)

This is the best movie that has come out of Sundance in a while, and it didn’t get the recognition it deserved. In Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, Nancy Stokes is a retired school teacher who is yearning for some adventure and some sex. And she has a plan, which involves hiring a young sex worker named Leo Grande.

Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack have incredible chemistry in this, and it’s such a beautiful movie to watch.

Twin Town (1997)

Julian and Jeremy are two brothers who prefer to spend their time on drugs and joyriding. Then their father, Fatty Lewis, shows up, and they demand compensation. Growing up without a proper set of parents can be difficult because you feel like you don’t have a support system, and you can spiral out of control.

These two brothers do want to get back at their father, and this is the only way they know how.

Better Living Through Chemistry (2014)

Sam Rockwell, Olivia Wilde, and Michelle Monaghan star in this dramedy, with Rockwell leading an uneventful existence as a pharmacist in a small town.

He tries his best to take on opportunities, but his life doesn’t go as planned. Weird things happen to him, and he doesn’t know how to move forward. He makes some poor decisions that make this enjoyable.

99 Francs (2007)

You may think marketing is dull or uninteresting, but after Mad Men and 99 Francs, you’ll think otherwise. The life of Octave Parango explores the flamboyant ad designer. His life is filled with success, satire, misery, and love.
