Summary

Joe Pickett Season 2 ends on a high note with an incredible finale. I genuinely hope we see this crew back for a third season.

We recap the Paramount+ series Joe Pickett Season 2 Episode 10, “The Third Way,” which contains spoilers for the Joe Pickett Season 2 Ending.

The season finale of Joe Pickett has arrived, and we have so many questions needing to be answered. Hank and his crew are on the hunt for Marissa, while Joe and Shannon attempt to reach her before they do. An unlikely duo ends up helping Joe as they try to bring down everyone.

Joe Pickett Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

The finale begins with one of the Grimm brothers watching Hank and his crew come up the woods, and he heads to alert his brother that they are coming. Deputy McLanahan is grilling Marybeth about where Joe and Shannon are running. He tells a deputy to take her downtown and lock her up in her new home.

Cricket is taking Marybeth to the station, and she tries to explain that Barnum is guilty and says that Charlie Left Hand can corroborate her story. At the same time, three men with ski masks head into the Pickett household, where Missy and the kids escape out the back door.

Who saves Joe from the Grimm brothers?

Joe arrives to try to plead with the Grimm brothers stating that he wants to help Marissa and ensure her safety. However, they don’t believe him, leading to a shootout. The brothers know that Joe is down to his last bullet and surround him until Nate arrives and has a gun to the back of one of the brother’s heads.

The four men sit down and talk about why they are here. The Grimm brothers explain why they are in the mountains and how the government took everything from them, including killing their mom and sister. Nate backs up their story stating he had heard the story and that Joe is on the wrong side of this. They hear gunfire, leading to a truce until after they protect Marissa.

Slowly but surely, the Grimm brothers, along with Joe and Nate, start picking off Hank’s men one by one. The job is complete, and now the Grimm brothers face off with Joe and Nate. One of the brothers asks why Joe didn’t let the man kill him, and he says that they are in the right. They agree to work together, and Marissa arrives to say Shannon needs help.

What happens to Shannon?

After Joe, Nate, Shannon, and Marissa reunite in the woods, Joe tells Shannon that his job requires him to take her in, but if she pleads not guilty for what she did, he would testify in favor of her for what she did for Marissa. She needs medical attention and asks Nate if he knows a place, and he replies that he does.

Joe and Marissa arrive on horses where Deputy McLanahan and the crew are posted up waiting for them. At first, McLanahan tells them to pull out their guns until he realizes it’s Marissa and not Shannon on the horse, so he tells him to lower their weapons.

Will Marybeth face charges for shooting Sheriff Barnum?

Marissa sits down with Deputy McLanahan, who tells him what happened, mentioning everything Barnum did. As a result, he tells Marybeth that her story of self-defense is corroborated, meaning that she is free to go. McLanahan also tells Joe that he won’t be pressing charges against him for punching him and taking his car.

Joe Pickett Season 2 Ending Explained

We see Charlie Left Hand bringing his daughter to a posterboard of missing people, saying she has given them hope. At the Pickett’s, Joe and Marybeth sing and dance together with their kids looking on, saying, “They haven’t done that in a while.”

The season ends with many vehicles driving down the road screaming for justice for the Grimm Brothers. The Picketts head outside, and we see a woman say, “Do you miss me, baby?” Lucy Pickett asks, “Who is that?” and April (Joe/Marybeth’s adoptive daughter) says, “That was my mother.”
