The Witcher Season 3 Episode 7 Recap
The episode starts with Ciri being portaled in the middle of a desolate desert after she tapped into the powers of Tor Lara, blowing the tower up.
In the aftermath of the Battle of Aretuza, Jaskier arrives at the castle looking for his friends. Instead, he finds the destruction left behind and a weeping Radovid.
After giving his lover directions to a safe house, Jaskier reunites with Yennefer, and she tells him that Geralt is gravely injured.
Triss portaled the severely injured Witcher to Brokilon Forest, where the elves were trying to save him. His prognosis isn’t great, as one elf, Milva, notes.
Ciri’s Lone Desert Quest
Alone and injured, Ciri puts her broken arm back together before unsuccessfully trying to open a portal back to Aretuza. She’s not completely alone, as a mysterious figure can be seen stalking her.
While trying to survive the desert heat, Ciri decides that walking west will eventually lead her to food and shelter. She leaves a couple of items behind, including the Never Lost Always Found locket Yennefer gave her.
After walking for the whole night, Ciri is horrified to realize she’s back where she started.
As she starts to feel hopeless, the princess comes across a unicorn that saves her from a desert monster. Ciri tries following the magical creature but can’t keep up with it.
Who is the first ghost Ciri comes across?
Eventually, she finds a food source in some lizard’s eggs. But as she’s enjoying the sparse meal, her mother, Princess Pavetta, magically appears. Instead of words of encouragement, Pavetta’s ghost berates her.
Ciri then finds herself in what looks like an abandoned tavern and gets to speak to the mysterious figure stalking her. The Hooded Woman tells Ciri that because of her power, she may become the “last to change things,” among other riddles.
The following morning our heroine wakes up with the unicorn by her side. This time, he allows her to follow him and leads her to a source of water.
As the days pass, Cirrila and her new friend, whom she calls Little Horse, are traversing the desert together. A subconscious illusion of Queen Calanthe appears and berates the young princess for her inaction in the lead-up to the war.
Who is the mysterious Hooded Woman?
At nightfall, the Hooded Woman comes back and finally reveals herself as Falka, a princess who went down in history as an elven monster burned at the stake.
An unrepentant Falka defends her actions (including murdering her father and most of his kingdom) and advises young Ciri to use her powers to destroy the world.
Why does Ciri use fire magic?
A massive spider-like creature springs out of the sand. Ciri slays the beast, but not before it injures Little Horse. Falka appears once more and encourages Ciri to use forbidden fire magic to save the unicorn’s life.
Thankfully, it works, but as soon as he’s better, Little Horse runs away, frightened.
The Witcher Season 3 Episode 7 Ending Explained
Falka encourages Cirilla to tap further into fire magic; the power seems to be completely seducing the young princess. She’s shown violent visions of revenge against those who harmed her and the brutal deaths of people she loves, including Jaskier, Yennefer, and Geralt.
As far as Falka’s concerned, Ciri doesn’t need anyone. She needs to embrace her full strength and rage. But that’s not what Ciri wants, so she claims to relinquish her power.
When she opens her eyes again, Ciri has made it out of the desert, and a group of men takes her while muttering something about her fitting the description.
Jaskier goes to Brokilon Forest
Jaskier arrives at Brokilon Forest, where Geralt is recovering. At first, the elves refuse to allow him entry. But the bard sits down and starts singing, which convinces them to allow him to see the White Wolf (they probably just wanted him to shut up).
Geralt is still bedbound from his injuries. And Jaskier has some terrible news for him. It seems Ciri was found by Nilfgaard, and she’s on her way to Emhyr.
