What happens to Geralt at the end of The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2

What happens to Geralt at the end of The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2? We discuss the popular Netflix series and a crucial plot point.

The beloved Geralt of Rivia is the heart and soul of The Witcher saga

The White Wolf’s journey involved slaying monsters across the continent, protecting his child surprise, Princess Cirilla of Cintra, and falling in love with the witch, Yennefer of Vengerberg.

As perilous as Geralt’s saga has been, he never came as close to death as in season 3, volume 2. In the suitably titled episode six, “Everybody Has a Plan ’til They Get Punched in the Face,”

Geralt faces the mage Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu), who has been pulling Lydia and Renier’s strings all this time.

After Vilgeforz revealed his true colors and invited the Nilfgaard army into Aretuza, the evil mage searched for Geralt and Ciri, who were trying to escape the bloodshed.

Geralt fought the mage and lost, but Vilgefortz chose not to end his life for some unknown reason.

What happens to Geralt at the end of The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2?

Triss finds Geralt’s near-lifeless body on the beach and takes him to Brokilon forest, where the elves try to heal him. One elf, in particular, Milva (Meng’er Zhang), is sure Geralt’s injuries are fatal. But instead of dying, Geralt slowly starts to recover. Stubborn, he tries leaving the forest several times, but Milva convinces him to go back to bed and wait until he is fit for battle.

Unfortunately, the healing process is slow, and forest remedies don’t work on the White Wolf because he is a mutant.

But when Yennefer finally visits him at Brokilon, she completely heals him.

Back to full strength, Geralt leaves the magical forest with his bard friend, Jaskier, and heads to Niflgaard. On the way, they encounter a Nilfgaardian roadblock and, at first, decide to bribe the guard and move on.

But after witnessing the guard abusing his power, Geralt has to intervene and starts a fight with about a dozen Nilfgaardian soldiers.

He was about to lose when Milva intervened out of nowhere and revealed she was also joining the quest.

Is Geralt still alive at the end of The Witcher Season 3?

Yes, Geralt is very much alive and looking for a rematch with Vilgefortz. He plans to take down Emhyr and rescue Ciri, who he wrongly believes to be in Nilfgaard.

Geralt’s final scene in the season has him send a threatening message to Emhyr through one of the Nilfgaardian soldiers he left alive. We then watch Geralt, Jaskier, and their new companion, Milva, walking past the former roadblock.

Why will Geralt change his face in The Witcher season 4?

Up until season 3, Henry Cavill portrayed Geralt of Rivia. In October of last year, Cavill announced he had left the series for good, and season 3 was the actor’s final stand in the role.

From next season onwards, Liam Hemsworth will be taking over the part of Geralt. We don’t know how the series will play off the main character’s face change, but the best option is probably to ignore it in the narrative. A terrible option would be to include some multiverse in the plot, something one of the producers did, unfortunately, suggest in a recent social media post.
