Ransom (2017)

Ransom follows the experienced crisis and hostage negotiator Eric Beaumont (Luke Roberts) and his team as they solve kidnap and ransom cases involving dangerous criminals across the world. It’s inspired by real-life negotiators Laurent Combalbert and Marwan Mery.

24 (2001)

24 is a serial drama that follows Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland). He’s an agent in the American Counter Terrorist Unit, whose job is to protect the United States from terrorist plots. Each episode takes place over one hour, showing events in real-time.

A clock is regularly displayed on-screen, and to show multiple scenes happening at once, the show makes regular split screens.

Money Heist (2017)

A Spanish series set in Madrid, it follows Sergio Marquina (Álvaro Morte), who is also known as The Professor, and Salvador “Salva” Martín as he recruits eight people to rob the Royal Mint of Spain of €984 million.

After this heist, they plan another, this time looking to escape with gold from the Bank of Spain.

Departure (2019)

Departure follows Kendra Malley (Archie Panjabi) as she investigates the disappearances of planes over oceans, trying to find out if there are any survivors of the planes that have vanished.

She must also work out why these planes have gone and try to prevent future tragedies.

Homeland (2011)

Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) returns home to the USA after being held for eight years in captivity by Al-Qaeda. But CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is convinced that he’s been turned and is planning to carry out a terror attack on American soil.

To find out the truth, Mathison engages him in a dangerous game of cat and mouse that puts America’s security at risk.

Line of Duty (2012)

Line of Duty is a police show that follows Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) as he’s transferred to Anti-Corruption Unit 12 (AC-12) after he refuses to agree to cover up an unlawful shooting by a colleague.

Arnott is partnered with Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), a highly commended undercover officer. The pair work together to investigate corrupt police officers, and identify person H, a corrupt officer with links to organized crime.

The Fall (2013)

Police Superintendent Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) is moved to the Police Service of Northern Ireland to help with a murder investigation that’s remained active for longer than 28 days.

It soon becomes clear a serial killer is on the loose, and Stella must work with local officers to catch Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan), who is attacking young professional women in Belfast.

Bodyguard (2018)

Bodyguard follows David Budd (Richard Madden), who is a courageous but unstable war veteran. He’s now working as a Specialist Protection Officer for the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch of London’s Metropolitan Police Service and is charged with protecting Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes).

Blacklist (2013)

An American crime-thriller, Blacklist follows Raymond Reddington (James Spader), one of the world’s most wanted fugitives, as he cooperates with the FBI to hunt down other threatening criminals.

Hostages (2013)

The family of Dr. Ellen Sanders (Toni Collette) is taken hostage by a team of rogue FBI agents just before she’s about to perform surgery on the President of the United States (James Naughton).

The kidnappers issue a demand that Sanders is to assassinate the President during his surgery to prevent her family from being killed.
