Summary
An episode that feels like it should’ve happened earlier in the season or not at all.
We recap the Crunchyroll anime series Masamune-kun’s Revenge R Season 2 Episode 11, “A series of confessions,” which contains spoilers.
In a surprise turn of events, Aki (voiced by Ayaka Ohashi) seems to have broken up with Masamune (voiced by Natsuki Hanae). Although it felt like things were going decently for the couple, it was hard to see them succeeding for long, with a new obstacle popping up every week.
Now that Masamune’s on the market, there’s a chance a few other characters may feel brave enough to make their move, but will they have what it takes to overcome their feelings for Aki?
Masamune-kun’s Revenge R Season 2 Episode 11 Recap
The episode opens with Masamune’s friends commenting on how he’s been absent from school for the last four days. Neither Fujinomiya nor Kojuro seem to have any idea what’s wrong, as he’s been ignoring them both.
After learning he and Aki broke up, Yoshino and their friends decide to fix things.
Where is Masamune?
After visiting his home only to find he is not there, Masamune’s friends learn that he left to stay at his grandfather’s place in Shinshu.
This is also where Masamune stayed after the Pig’s Foot incident when he was a child.
What does Fujinomiya accuse Yoshino of?
Fujinomiya accuses Yoshino of not only having feelings for Masamune but hiding them, hurting both her and Aki in the process.
Does Fujinomiya have feelings for Kojuro?
Fujinomiya does not have feelings for Kojuro.
When Futaba suggests she turn her sights on other guys in their class, she suggests Kojuro, but Fujinomiya admits she does not see him that way.
Masamune-kun’s Revenge R Season 2 Episode 11 Ending Explained
Masamune hears rustling in the bushes as he prepares for his morning run. Yoshino runs up and embraces Masamune before kissing him.
Somehow, despite being in the heat of the season, the drama is feeling duller than ever. Maybe it’s because it’s starting to feel like both Yoshino and Fujinomiya’s storylines were just drawn out for the sake of trying to create drama, but it isn’t as exciting as I feel it should’ve been. There was far more tension surrounding the revenge plot.
The episode wasn’t bad, just painfully predictable. Everything that’s happening now feels like filler before Aki and Masamune inevitably end up together. Yoshino’s confession and feelings being brought up episodes after Masamune thought he had feelings for her feels pointless, especially if it goes nowhere. I am all for tying up loose ends, but at this point, I feel like we’re still introducing new ideas to create pointless drama.
I’m starting to wish the revenge plot had remained the biggest problem of the series, but with one episode left, I am curious to see just how the anime chooses to tie everything up.
