The shocking and disturbing events surrounding the La Luz Del Mundo Church leader would shock the world. Naasón Joaquín García, the husband of Alma Zamora, was arrested and eventually jailed for a string of child sexual abuse and trafficking offenses in 2022.
The church leader would receive just under seventeen years in prison for the offenses, although his followers still believed him to be innocent of the charges. Garcia was known as “The Apostle” within the realms of the mega-church.
The institute itself was founded in Mexico in 1926 by Garcia’s grandfather, leading to Naasón Joaquín García eventually becoming its leader. To date, there have only ever been three leaders involved in the running of the church that would grow exponentially across the world.
The name of the church translates as The Light of the World. Garcia and two associates were arrested in 2019 at Los Angeles Airport, where they would often use a private jet to travel.
Alma Zamora is the wife of the disgraced church leader Naasón Joaquín García.
After marrying in 1992, the couple had three children. Alma Zamora would have most likely held a prestigious position within the church due to her husband, but very little information is available about her.
After the shocking events at the church were released, it seems that the wife and children of Garcia did their best to keep a low profile.
The three children, now adults, are Adoraím, Eldaí, and Sibma, but there is not much information about them online.
A report in La Silla Rota indicates that son Adoraim, now in his late twenties, could likely be the new leader of the controversial church, and there are also rumors of his link to professional football teams in Mexico.
However, no official confirmation of what teams he may be involved with exists. Adoraim Joaquín has two sisters.
It is probable that Eldaí and Sibma Joaquín Zamora also had a role within the church, but it is also unknown what connections they had within La Luz Del Mundo.
Alma Zamora was involved in the inner circles of the church but was never prosecuted in connection with the horrific activities that led to her husband’s imprisonment.
Allegations would be made against Garcia’s wife, children, and secretary. Susana Medina Oaxaca and Alondra Ocampo were also charged with various offenses related to the cases.
García was held on $50 million bail, Ocampo on $25 million, and Oaxaca remained free on bail.
