Italian Netflix youth drama Di4ries is a slick-paced production focussing on the lives of an ensemble cast of characters finding their way through life at middle school — our focus moves to Pietro and who the cool character is.
Season one of the show became a bit of a sleeper, and although globally, it didn’t set the TV schedules alight, it did perform well in its native Italy, leading to a somewhat late recommission.

Who is Pietro in Di4ries, and why is he important?
Pietro Maggi is portrayed as a hip, cool student at the school and is one of the main protagonists in the show. Character-wise, Pietro is not afraid to speak up for himself, and he generally does if he has something to say.
Sometimes, he can be a little gnarly, and he has moments when he comes across as headstrong, but it is revealed that his home life is not perfect, and it appears his parents are not the greatest role models for the young man to aspire to.
However, Pietro does his best, working hard at the subjects that interest him, and he shows an artistic side, displaying his skill as a graffiti artist, and later on looks to start a basketball team at the school.
His best friend is Giulio Paccagini, a bit of a class joker, who has a list of the prettiest girls in the school that has been voted on by the other boys, and despite his objections to such a list, Pietro voted for Livia. The list, of course, eventually surfaces, causing trouble for all involved.
For many seasons one and two, Pietro acts as the eyes of the viewer, initially guiding us through the show and allowing us to see what life is like through his experiences and interactions with the regular cast.
He is one of the show’s anchors and is involved in many ongoing storylines, making him an important aspect of the whole series.
Who plays Pietro in Di4ries?
The part of Pietro is played by a talented young actor, social personality, and model, Andrea Arru.
Andrea was born on 18 August 2007 in Ploaghe, Italy. From an early age, he would chase a dream of becoming an actor and would do countless auditions, looking for a break into the industry.
Eventually, he would join with CDA Studio Di Nardo, which helped him land a role. He has a brother called Benny, and both siblings enjoy sports.
What is Andrea Arru best known for?
Andrea would model and appear on the cover of City and City magazine, leading to him taking on a couple of roles in short films before working on Glassboy in 2020.
After that job, in 2020, he would appear in crime thriller Calibro 9.
In 2021, he had a part in the youth TV series Storia di una famiglia perbene and was also in an episode of another series, That Dirty Black Bag.
His biggest role to date is starring in the Netflix series Di4ries.
