Netflix has dropped the first half of the second season of Italian teen angst school dramedy Di4ries, much to the delight of fans of the show. There are fourteen episodes in the second season of the show, and the first seven episodes dropped on October 10, 2023, meaning there are still another seven episodes to go. While fans eagerly await news about Part 2 being released from detention, we look even further ahead of wonder if there will be a Season 3 of Di4ries for that eager fanbase to look forward to after.
Di4ries would premiere on Netflix in May 2022 and would introduce us to the pupils of Galileo Galilei Middle School, and the class of 2D.
The school-based teenage show was originally directed by Alessandro Celli and the writing chores were handled by Mariano Di Nardo, Simona Ercolani, and Angelo Pastore.
The young cast includes Andrea Arru as Pietro, Flavia Leone as Livia, Biagio Venditti as Daniele, Sofia Nicolini as Isabel, and Liam Nicolosi as Giulio.
Although not a global success, it did appear that the show would grow a strong fan base in Italy who enjoyed the wholesome escapades of the cast, engaging in friendships, romance, and drama.
After a tense period in limbo, the show would be greenlit for a second season. But what about a third?
Will there be a Season 3 of the Netflix series Di4ries?

At the time of writing, there is no confirmation of a third season being commissioned.
However, with the second season still to drop in full on Netflix, it is no surprise that we have no news on Season 3.
When might Di4ries Season 3 be released?
Time-wise, it looks as if we will not see the second half of season two till 2024, meaning that a third season will not be with us until at least 2025.
It is also worth noting that it did take a while before the streaming giant even gave the second run the go-ahead. It was over a year before Season 2 was greenlit, and that fact alone makes us worry about the chance of there being a third season.
As ever, it will all come down to the numbers.
How did Di4ries perform on Netflix?
Netflix needs to collect all the relevant data including the watch and completion rates of a show, before giving the go-ahead for more seasons, and that information is obviously not going to be available for a long time.
However, we can make some assumptions based on previous seasons. According to Netflix Top 10, the first season of Di4ries reached the top ten in five different countries. In Italy, it remained there for four straight weeks.
This is a slightly better performance than the second season has enjoyed. While it has remained in Italy’s top ten for the two weeks since its debut, this is the only territory that the show has managed to infiltrate the top ten of. However, there’s a good chance that these numbers will change when the second batch of episodes releases.
If Season 2 manages to catch on, then there may be a chance of another set of adventures for our cast, but the production team would have to rush as, let’s face it, the young and talented performers are also getting older, and will no doubt be looking for different roles to expand their own careers, making them less likely to commit to another season.
Only time will tell.
