Summary

Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix dispatches the big bad with a bit too much ease, but the anime action with Laserhawk and Eden’s army is a blast to watch, and the intriguing ending teases the show might pull from Assassin’s Creed lore in future.

From the start, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix has been an homage to both retro video games — by including top-down segments rendered in 8-bit style graphics, dialogue minigames, and more — and to Ubisoft titles, by including not just elements from Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon but references to Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed, Rayman, and even Rainbow Six Siege. How does everything come together in the Season 1 ending?

The stage for the finale was set in episode five, with the reveal that Sarah has her own hidden agenda with the VR facility. It’s another twist in a season full of them, but this one builds off the fact that Sarah was never trustworthy, given her history of betrayal.

Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix Season 1 Episode 6 Recap and Breakdown

The final episode of Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix opens with the Rayman replacement announcing that the day is Retribution Day, and it’s when the Assassin Bullfrog will be executed for his crimes. Captain Laserhawk listens on the car radio, making his way back to the city. But he’s suddenly jolted from his car by purple lightning coming from his arm with his system AI warning a trojan virus has been detected.

When Sarah was upgrading his arm, she was really giving him a virus to upload to the VR facility. That virus is now corrupting Laserhawk. Replacement Rayman announces that Eden’s army is on their way to crush Marcus and his followers, along with the Niji 6 in a mech. They approach Laserhawk.

In the VR facility, Marcus realizes that Sarah used Laserhawk to bring the virus. He brings in several drones to kill Sarah and locks himself in a home while he tries to fight the virus in an 8-bit section. Cutting to Rayman, he’s in a bathroom talking to himself in the mirror. The mirror Rayman tries to convince himself to go back to Eden and beg, but the real Rayman says that he won’t, grabs two guns, and heads to Eden to take them down. On his way out, he flattens his hair and renames himself Raymon.

Does Captain Laserhawk defeat Eden’s army?

Eden’s army makes its way to the VR facility. Red in his massive mech spots Laserhawk, and his anger compels him to beat him up, despite the Sergeant arguing he isn’t a threat. Laserhawk quickly proves him wrong by flipping Sergeant’s car with an overcharged plasma blast, but his system AI warns the plasma capacity is unstable. He is in pain.

He fires several more blasts to wreck the army and screams in pain when his arm overloads. Red takes him on, kicking Laserhawk across the ground. Red walks over to Laserhawk, who is recovering from his arm, saying it’s been fun to fight him, but good things must come to an end. A broadcast from Replacement Rayman prompts Red to stop and watch it, but when it cuts to commercials he stomps Laserhawk into the ground.

An angry Laserhawk lifts Red’s mech and throws it, yelling that he will only die once he’s beaten both Red and Sarah. They duel in the air. The tanks open fire, only to have their shells thrown back at them. Laserhawk charges up an intense plasma blast at the mech, despite the pain it causes him. When he crashes into the mech, the explosion can be seen for miles.

How does Rayman save Bullfrog?

Replacement Rayman asks Bullfrog if he has any last regrets, and Bullfrog says he should have been there for his comrades, and he hopes Laserhawk still lives. After a break, Replacement Rayman brings on a child to pull the lever that will deliver 40,000 to Bullfrog. The Board cackles in their office that everything is going according to plan until they get a phone call from the Sergeant that Laserhawk is beating their army. One of the members suggests they send backup, but the Alpha board member reminds him they already sent everyone.

Raymon walks up to a security guard and dispatches him with a floating hand. He enters the boardroom and immediately shoots a member. He demands the rest sit down, and when one tries to reason with him he tells them to shut up. Raymon demands they stop the execution of Bullfrog, and just at the last second, it’s called off. Raymon slaughters the rest of the members.

Does Marcus Holloway stop Sarah?

Sarah defeats the drones and goes to beat the door down to Marcus. She spots the people in the VR rigs and stabs one with a spindly leg. She then threatens to stab T-Bone if Marcus doesn’t open the door, let the virus take over the system, and negotiate with her. Marcus crawls out to talk to her. Sarah takes his chair and attempts to talk with Marcus.

Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix Ending Explained

Does Captain Laserhawk die?

While she is talking, Sarah reveals that Eden Tech has gone by many names in the past, including the Templar Order. Sarah says they’ve always been governed by a weak council, and she intends to bring new blood. Marcus laughs at her offer for him to help, and when Sarah starts explaining her plan for Eden’s change, Laserhawk interrupts.

He’s very weak, and falls to the floor, coughing. Sarah catches him, her hands on his chest. Laserhawk pushes it down, causing a massive explosion. All that’s left of Laserhawk after the blast is a severed arm, hinting at his death but not confirming it. Sarah survives and is revealed to be a robot. She reiterates her offer, but Marcus doesn’t answer. It brings an end to Laserhawk’s story but leaves the door open for Marcus to take on a bigger role to stop Sarah.

What is the Templar Order?

The Templar Order are the main villains in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise. They have their origins with the Order of the Ancients in Ancient Egypt but span across many different eras of history, including Italy in the late 1400s, America during their revolution against the British, and even in the modern day.

They and the Assassins search for Pieces of Eden, artifacts left behind by the Isu/First Civilization. The Templars want to use these pieces to dominate the world, and the Assassins are sworn to stop them.
