The Family Plan stars Mark Wahlberg as Dan Morgan, a devoted family man working as a car salesman and living his best life. However, the character has a decidedly more intriguing past, involving working as an assassin for the government, taking out some of the world’s deadliest threats. As is often the case when you are an ex-agent, enemies from the past rear their ugly heads and seek revenge, prompting our retired hero to pack his family up and announce he’s taking them off to Vegas on a road trip holiday. Given that premise, fans are interested in where The Family Plan was filmed as the family moves throughout the U.S. to their eventual destination, so here’s what we’ve dug up, along with some other interesting production details as well.

Where was The Family Plan filmed?

Atlanta, Georgia

With a road trip movie, there is always going to be a lot of location work required, and reports indicate that the principal photography started in Atlanta before the family embarked on the road trip to Vegas.

Director Simon Cellan Jones promotes the film on his Instagram page and includes lots of pictures from the shoot, including a few from Atlanta. An article in Holly Buff reveals that the crew was spotted at the Bethany Bridge, situated in Bartow County, that crosses the Allatoona Creek arm of Lake Allatoona.

Canton, Atlanta

Located about forty miles North of downtown Atlanta, the city of Canton was a location used for the shoot, and in particular, a car dealership was used for a few scenes as well as a local ice cream shop that was re-dressed as Lambert’s Diner, a restaurant you will spot when you watch the movie.

New York

Easy to spot during filming, you will notice shots of Buffalo New York, done via helicopter, in the movie, and the crew were on site for filming these scenes in November 2022.

Las Vegas

Of course, with the final destination for our cast being Vegas, there was always going to be plenty of action filmed in Sin City. However you will be able to pick out a few iconic locations such as The Bellagio Hotel and The Strat Hotel and Casino Tower, and of course, you will see The Hoover Dam in The Black Canyon of The Colorado River.
