Reacher Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

O’Donnell is at home gathering his wife and kids to get them off the grid until they figure out who is after them. His wife asks him about the threat level, and he tells her they are handling safety precautions with them.

Frances and Dixon are at the New Age Denver plant, attempting to inspect the place. However, the foreman comes out to explain to them that someone had come by to pick up all the bombs ten minutes before they arrived. Moments later, we see Mahmoud’s henchmen taking out a truck driver and stealing the bombs.

Frances and Dixon leave New Age and drive up on the tractor-trailer, where those henchmen attempt to shoot at them. After Frances and Dixon remove the guys, they stumble across information about who signed off on the missiles leaving New Age.

Who signed off on the missiles leaving New Age?

Frances and Dixon leave the crime scene to call Reacher and O’Donnell. They explain what happened with the shootout but also inform Reacher and O’Donnell that Tony Swan is alive. However, he signed off on the missiles leaving New Age, meaning he could be on the wrong side.

Mahmoud called Langston to discuss the ongoing issue with Reacher and his crew. He tells Langston the price may go up if the problems keep persisting. Langston said everything would be ready upon his arrival, and Reacher and his team would be dealt with.

What does Senator Lavoy want from Reacher?

Senator Lavoy forces a meet-up between him and Reacher. Lavoy breaks down Reacher and his background and knows what he can do. When Reacher interrogated Daniel, he informed him of the possible use of the bombs for terrorists. As a result, Lavoy will provide Reacher and his team with anything they need to stop this from happening because his name is all over the deal and would possibly cause him legal ramifications.

O’Donnell calls Reacher to let him know that the coroner has released Franz’s body, meaning they have to go to New York to the funeral. Detective Russo confronts Reacher at the funeral about what has turned up in the investigation. He ran all the names from New Age, where he found out that each worked for the NYPD. Each guy was under investigation, so they took early retirement, and the charges went away.

Russo explains the only guy who wasn’t former NYPD is Swan, but his military background is why he was recruited to be a part of the team. Reacher is still in denial over Swan’s involvement.

How does Reacher Season 2 Episode 5 end?

After a quick chase, Russo and Reacher get the car to crash. Reacher pleads with Russo to look the other way while he interrogates the guy for information, and he does. The hitman reveals that he was hired to shoot and take them out during the funeral. Reacher says he knows Langston wouldn’t pay him in advance, but the guy said he doesn’t know who Langston is. Instead, he says the guy who hired them was named Swan.

When the hitman heads to the abandoned building to collect his money, the building blows up as Reacher and Frances look on.
