Yet another underwhelming, overstuffed episode of Death and Other Details has you wondering why they are dragging every detail along so slowly.
Imogene and Sunil set out in the city to see if they can uncover any details about the documents they found on the ship in Death and Other Details Episode 5. Anna and Leila’s relationship is slowly starting to crumble while Rufus begins to piece together who is involved in Keith’s murder. Season 1 is bogged down at this point, and this is yet another overstuffed installment that doesn’t do the mystery any favors.
Death and Other Details Season 1 Episode 5 Recap
Rufus and Leila are discussing the last conversation between Keith and her. She explains that Keith pressed her to reveal what case she was working on and warned him that someone was potentially listening. Her biggest fear is Victor Sams and how he might’ve had a hand in Keith’s death.
Sunil and Imogene are able to get the refugees to safety, and before deciding to head back to the ship, Sunil says he might be able to find someone to help with the shipping documents that could help solve her mother’s murder. So, the two stay in town for the night.
Who does Anna cheat on her wife with?
Governor Alexander confronts Tripp Collier about whether he is behind sending her the photos of them having sex and partying, and he says no. Another affair happened when we saw Anna getting dressed after sleeping with Eleanor Chun.
Leila confronts Anna, saying they must get off the ship because they aren’t safe. The series then takes us back six months when she questions Peter Meadows, who claims that Victor Sams has ruined his life. That same night after questioning him, she was in a car accident. Anna presses Leila to tell her the danger, but she refuses to say his name out loud.
What does Leila ask Anna for?
Anna suggests that the duo have a counseling session, but that doesn’t go how she wanted. Anna pleads with Leila to talk to her about what is wrong, but Leila says nobody believes her about anything she says. Leila tells Anna that she wants a divorce.
Teddy visits Winnie in the jail to talk to her about Victor Sams and his hold over her. Winnie fires back at her, but Teddy says everything she has done so far was for the family. Another sarcastic remark by Winnie leads to Teddy slapping her. She tells her that she will go to prison, but when she is ready to talk, she will listen.
How does Death and Other Details Season 1 Episode 5 end?
The Colliers and Chuns are at the table meeting about the deal. The Chun family states they are funding the $3 billion deal but want 51% of the Collier Mills. Anna stands up, saying they are walking, but her father, Lawrence Collier, stands up and says they have a deal.
On land, Sunil and Imogene meet with the lady, who tells her she can get them all the information she needs but wants to take the documents with her. When the duo decides to head back to the ship, they realize they are being followed but are able to escape. The two share a moment on the boat about her past, and Sunil and Imogene kiss.
After finding a bug in Leila’s room, Rufus, Leila, and Teddy start to look over the footage of who was on the ship before everyone boarded. It leads to him finding a hidden part of the ship where someone could’ve been hiding in plain sight.
