On land, Commander Henry prepares his team to get all the equipment off the ship upon arrival. Season 1 steps up considerably in this episode, which is much improved over Episode 1.

NASA Commander Henry arrives in Kazakhstan with his team to investigate the ISS upon returning from space. However, Irena informs him that there might not be anything to examine on the ship due to them not showing any life aboard.

With each passing minute, Commander Henry gets more frustrated with the possibility of his science project not returning, which would cost millions and result in the loss of what they potentially gained in the mission.

The Countdown Begins

Jo is down to 6 hours of oxygen on board with only one of the five batteries retrieved. Each battery takes up to 90 minutes to get, and she realizes she is running out of time. The silence and the dark begin to get to her, and she starts to hear things, leading to her getting off track easily. She is down to her final 19% oxygen and is able to set disembarkation for 90 minutes.

On board, Jo is trying to set up the ship to disembark but is facing several malfunctions which she can’t fix. The time is set to elapse, meaning her time and oxygen levels are slowly ending. Finally, after the error goes away, Jo can disembark and head back towards Earth.

On land, time has run out, and they assume that Jo didn’t make it out alive, even praying for her. Commander Henry and Irena argue over the waste of money and how this didn’t turn out as they had hoped.

Does Jo retrieve the Data Core?

Although presumed dead, Jo has reentered the space area where she can communicate with the team. While everyone is happy she is alive, Commander Henry’s first question is whether or not she retrieved the Data Core, and she confirms that she did.

With the space station unable to control where she might land and Jo unable to alter things on board, everyone jets to her potential landing spot to rescue her.
