WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS

There are plenty of emotions on the line in Blood & Water Season 4 Episode 6, which feels quite short-lived by the ending. Of course, Puleng saves Fiks, which feels mirrored to the events of the end of Season 3, but it all feels rushed. The final episode brings a hostage situation, and the writers try and wrap up the romances for good measure (even giving hope for Puleng and KB).

Fiks remains Damian’s hostage

Despite confessing, Damian will not let Fiks go. He’s emotional and angry. Fiks tries to connect with him. but he will not allow it. Puleng tries to bring Gregory to Damian, but she’s soon captured by Damian’s group. She’s taken to her old school pool, but then the police turn up. Damian sees the police commotion outside — it officially became a hostage situation.

Fikile screams for help and bites Damian. The police ask Damian to leave the school and give himself up. He threatens to kill Fiks if anyone enters the building.

Damian opens up about his father

Damian created a barricade to try and stop people coming in. Fiks asks Damian what’s wrong with his father and he tells her he has type 2 diabetes. He opens up, saying his father nearly killed himself to give him everything. He took the settlement from Gregory’s family after he was nearly drowned in the pool because medical care is expensive and he didn’t want to throw his father over the edge.

Fiks begs him to end it and promises not to press charges. She states her family has influences. Damian calls her a liar.

Puleng saves Fiks

Puleng tells Gregory to do the right thing. They both sneak into the building while the police are distracted. Damian lets them into the room he’s in with Fiks, pointing a gun. Gregory apologises for what he did to him in the pool. However, Damian chooses to tie them up.

Fiks apologizes to Puleng about leaking the sex tape. Puleng is not ready for her apology, leading to them arguing with each other about their history and families. While they argue, Gregory manages to fight a distracted Damian, but Damian manages to overpower him. Damian shoots his gun, causing alarm outside. He doesn’t shoot anyone, but Gregory escapes.

A desperate Damian asks the police for reassurance that he will not be arrested if he lets Fiks and Puleng go. The police reassure him. As he brings Fiks and Puleng outside, Damian holds the gun to his head, ready to kill himself. Puleng tells Damian that he needs to think about her father. Fiks also gives him words of reassurance and explains she’s as much to blame for the situation they are in. Damian regulates, and Fiks takes the gun off him. Damian is immediately arrested.

Blood & Water Season 4 Ending Explained

Normalcy returns. Gregory is investigated for the attempted murder of Damian. Fiks is not charged with anything due to willingly giving information.

Chris tells the principal that he stole the exam papers and explains it had nothing to do with KB. KB is shocked that Chris is taking all the blame. Afterward, KB comforts Puleng about recent events and they share a hug. As they are about to kiss, they are distracted. Chris then tells KB that he had been expelled and that they couldn’t afford to both go down as he needs KB to stay on a good path for his music career.

Later on, Thakenda asks Puleng and her brother if they’d like to relocate as she has a job offer in Johannesburg.

As Season 4 ends, the story moves to Johannesburg. Puleng meets KB at his apartment, implying that they will end up together again. If Season 4 is the last, then this episode was very conclusive.
