Henderson Gonzalez won Is It Cake? Season 3, becoming the latest victor in the popular reality cooking show with a unique gimmick. For three seasons the Netflix series, spun out of a viral social media trend, has seen various bakers attempt to trick an expert panel by baking cakes that closely resemble common objects. Gonzalez, an award-winning baker with over 15 years of experience, pipped Timmy Norman and Jujhar Mann in the finale to win a hefty prize pot and presumably secure many future business opportunities.

Henderson Gonzalez Won Is It Cake? Season 3

Henderson Gonzalez emerged victorious in the third season if Is It Cake?, managing to fool the panel with a stunning array of cakes that looked like… well, things other than cakes.

You can find Henderson on Instagram, where his bio reveals he is an “artistic baker, sugar architect designer and 3D cake expert”. On his website, Henderson explains he has “over 15 years of experience and the honor of being the winner of the Spring Baking Championship 2023.”

Henderson was born in Venezuela in 1987. He would arrive in the US in 2016, taking a job at Disney World, where he would work on his cake-making skills. Winning an online competition, he would fully embrace his calling, winning the prestigious “Spring Baking Championship” and “Holiday Baking Championship” on The Food Network. He was also honored as the “Cake Maker of the Year” at the 2023 American Cake Awards.

Henderson would make a very well-received documentary, My Sweet Story, about his skills and has been featured in numerous publications.

Henderson continues to build his brand online and has recently announced that he will be starting an online course dedicated to teaching the secrets of cake making to other cake fanatics who want to be able to design just like him. The course is titled “Lab School”, and there is some information on his website, though further details are still yet to be revealed.

Is It Cake? Offers A Substantial Cash Prize and Many Baking Opportunities

The winner of each episode of Is It Cake? has a chance to win ten thousand dollars, and the winner of the season overall gets fifty thousand dollars too. It could be argued, though, that the exposure the contestants receive could lead to all manner of opportunities in baking, especially if, like Henderson, they have an online presence, and offer services such as bespoke cakes or cooking classes.

The show is almost an advert for the talented cake makers who could cash in on their time on the show.

Timmy Norman and Jujhar Mann Were the Runners-Up In Is It Cake? Season 3

The season finale of Is It Cake? Season 3 ends with a bake-off between the final three bakers: Timmy Norman, Henderson Gonzalez, and Jujhar Mann. The exciting climax saw Jujhar bake a peacock statue cake, while Timmy stunned the panel with a cake shaped like a water pump.

It would, however, be Henderson who took first place with his cake in the shape of a toy box, leaving Norman and Mann as runners-up.
