I wasn’t expecting the Thai series Don’t Come Home to have such a sad ending. It does go full circle in such a meaningful manner. It’s not for the lighthearted, especially those who are mothers. The mums will truly understand the feelings exhibited in the final episode.
Here’s my breakdown of Don’t Come Home Episode 6.

Varee Is Stuck In 1992 In Horrific Conditions
In 1992, Natee drags Varee through the woods, leaving her out of sight from her daughter, Min. He brings her back to the laboratory and imprisons her in the glass cage where Panida’s science experiments have occurred.
At this point, Varee works out that it’s the year 1992, and she tries to explain to Natee (who is blatantly afraid) that she is from the future and owns the house; she raises how his boss (Panida) is her mother. Natee dismisses it all.
This is undoubtedly an exciting time-travel paradox unraveling before us.
Captain Fah Has No Choice But To Ask Her Father About The Case Of The Haunted House In 1992
In the present day (2024), Fah is confused to find that the gun that is part of the evidence in the 1992 case was registered in 2006. She visits her father, Police Major Vichai Arayaki, and reminds him of the brutal case where a woman died in 1992 in the same house where Varee and her daughter had gone missing.
Her father explains that the woman who died in that case did not have any identification and insists he did not tamper with any evidence concerning the gun. Vichai does raise an interesting fact about the case, though; he explains that the woman who died did have a piece of paper on her with some numbers.
Things turn personal when Vichai tells Fah that it’s the anniversary of her mom’s death and she should show up for it. Fah is disgusted at his sentiment and reminds him of how he treated her mother. In return, Vichai tells his daughter that the only reason she got promoted within the police force is because he had an affair with her boss.
In a shocking moment, the pregnant Fah swigs some of her father’s whisky and gives him an ironic “thank you” for raising her.
The swig of whiskey felt like closure for Fah. It feels that she will never be connected with her father again.
However, Fah’s encounter with her father provided insight that pivoted her investigation to a wild idea: that the missing woman, Varee, is still in the haunted house but at a “different time.”
The character finally suspends her belief due to the confusing evidence she faces.

Varee Experiences A Painful Death At The Hands Of Her Mother
While Fah continues investigating in 2024, in 1992, Varee desperately tries to free herself and save her child, Min. She becomes restless, telling Natee that Panida kidnapped her child.
Veree escapes the glass cage eventually and then stabs Natee in the eye with a shard of glass. During this moment, Veree realizes that Natee is “Uncle Natee” from the future, as he only has one eye; she is the one who caused his injury.
She leaves Natee on the floor, writhing in pain, and heads upstairs to find her daughter. When she does, Panida finds her; Varee tries to tell her that she is her (Panida’s) daughter, that Min is her grandchild, and that they’ve time-traveled from 2024.
However, Panida is in denial; the grief of losing her family in a horrific accident led her to create this time-traveling conundrum in the first place. She does not believe Veree is her daughter and refuses to lose another kid.
Both women struggle near the wooden banister on the top floor of the house as they attempt to hurt each other – Varee points a gun at her mother. Eventually, Panida throws Varee over the banister, and she falls to her death and the chandelier, which is on fire, lands on her.
Captain Fah Cracks The Case But There’s Nothing She Can Do About It
In the present day, Fah heads to the same house on her own. She looks at the landing at the bottom of the stairs and the broken chandelier above and cries; she knows Varee, who has gone missing in the present day, is dead in 1992. She is the murdered woman from 1992. She also realizes that the number on the paper is the phone number she gave Varee when they first met. Varee brought that paper with her when she time-traveled to the past.
Varee’s husband then turns up, and Fah attacks him and blames him for Varee’s death (because he was abusive, which led her to move back to her old home).
In addition, Varee is sick of the police force, and she tells her male acquaintances that all they want is power and processions.
For the rest of the episode, Fah focuses on being a mother, and she has her baby. When the Superintendent rings, she blocks his number. Tae, her trusted police colleague (and with whom she had a brief romance), provides her with more evidence on the 1992 and 2024 cases, but she tells him that they cannot fix what’s already happened.
Tae tells her he wants to transfer to wherever she is going with the police, but she tells him to chase criminals instead and forget about her.
Not only does the finale bring closure to the case, but it also gives closure to Fah, who decides to let go and focus on being a mother. Seeing Varee’s experiences has inspired her to live a different life. She wants to appreciate motherhood—a strong theme throughout the series.
Min Was Varee, and Varee Was Min In The Final Twist Of Don’t Come Home
Don’t Come Home ends in 1992 after Varee’s death. Panida moves out of the house and starts a new life. She tells Min that she will now be called “Varee.” But as the girl gets older, Panida realizes that Min is the same woman she killed in 1992—Min is Varee, and Varee is Min.
Eventually, Varee gets dementia, but she tries to warn Varee about the future on her deathbed. She tells her, “Don’t come home,” because she knows her younger self will eventually kill her.
And so, the ending of Don’t Come Home sees the cycle begin again; Varee is abused by her husband, and she decides to move back to her old home with her baby daughter, Min, which takes the audience right back to the beginning of the series.
