After last’s week’s mature and amusing episode, The Rookie Episode 15, “Manhunt”, seems to be turning the heat up with the entire city seemingly under siege. Here is the trailer:
My prediction is that Episode 15, “Manhunt” will involve a tragedy of some sort with one of the training officers. This will be the strongest test yet for the rookies as they hunt down a man with no reason. I wonder how John (Nathan Fillion) will cope will the entire ordeal? The promo has a byline of “Worst Nightmare”, so this will be a grand test of someone who is purposefully calm and principled. Will Jackson be able to deal with the danger? In previous episodes, he has struggled with the concept of getting shot and taking risks – he has overcome this recently, but this looks to be a different kettle of fish. Here is the blurb of Episode 15:
When a prison bus crashes, all units must respond as some inmates face severe injuries while others seek an opportunity to flee. In the wake of the accident, Officer Nolan tries to impress an FBI hostage negotiator while tracking down an escaped convict.
Interestingly, it is John Nolan who is trying to track down the escaped convict. My predictions could be wrong of course, and the usual cop-comedy may downplay the severity of the situation that The Rookie usually throws at us. It could be that John finds himself feeling sorry for the convict that then ends up with him being taken hostage. At one point in the promo, you can see him getting holstered around by the neck so it looks like he has made the wrong turn somewhere. So far The Rookie is proving to be an okay series, especially after a weak start, so let’s hope “Manhunt” is the episode the promo sells itself as.
