Summary
“Enemies” explores a man’s past and a secret that he kept hold of for years until now.
Tales from the Loop Episode 7 is another “meh” chapter, confirming that this anthology series is very inconsistent.
It opens up with a young George trying to fix a radio frequency. The next day, George and his friends electrocute a snake, and they keep pranking George. One of his friends asks George if he knows about the monster on the other island. They head out on a boat to the island.
The friends encourage George to edge closer into the forest on the island, and then they cruelly leave George on the island by riding off in the boat without him.
George initially gets comfortable on the island, presumably waiting for his friends. He finds old radio boxes washed up on the shore. As he tries to fix one, he hears a screech behind him, and he hurts himself on the arm by accident. He heads into the forest and sees a tent, so he runs away.
The next day, George wakes up with an infected arm with ants all over it. He heads to the tent again and starts a fire, but then he hears and sees a creature in the distance. George hides from it. The creatures eventually find him, so George electrocutes them to back off, hurting them in the process. When we see the creature properly, it appears to be a robot. George runs off, and he collapses on the beach. Someone picks him up on a boat.
George wakes up in the hospital, and his mother embraces him. His lower arm has been chopped off due to the infection from when he hurt himself. His father, Russ, asks him a series of questions about the island and tells him not to share his experiences with anyone.
George is given a robotic arm, and then the episode naturally moves to the future George, who wakes up with Loretta. He heard an electric cackle upstairs and shouted at Cole for using the taser. At night, George plays with the radio, and this time he hears a screech.
Episode 7 ends with George meeting his mother, and he asks whether his father mentioned the island. She tells him the robot was like a child to his father, but no one would accept it into the future. The robot was his first, and he knew the next had to be more like us. Russ put the robot on the island to keep it safe. George heads back to the island, and he approaches the robot. He apologizes for hurting it and gives the robot his robot arm.
This episode sounds more exciting than it really is.
