Summary

“Parcel 9” is a breakthrough episode for John B and his crew, but Sarah and Kiara must settle their differences.

Outer Banks Season 1, Episode 6 begins with John B being introduced to his new home, a strange scene considering he is a Pogue and will be living in a Kook household for now. Sarah’s father sets the boundaries and rules between John B and Sarah, which makes him naive; they are obviously going to sneak into each other’s rooms. When John B updates his crew, Kiara still has a problem with Sarah, but John B isn’t interested; he wants to focus on the gold.

They all head to the Crain household, which is marked on the map; they all discuss how it is meant to be haunted and how Mrs Crain has killed people. John B and co. enter the basement of the house, and it looks like a dead-end. Kiara blames the dead-end on Sarah, but John B wonders if her frustration is born from the time that they kissed – Kiara slaps him.

But then Pope finds water! And then they find a hidden well. John B. updates Sarah, but she’s more concerned that Kiara is territorial. John B holds a meeting, and all his friends are uncomfortable with Sarah, but he declares that she is his girlfriend. Kiara tries to land John B in hot water, stating that he was initially using Sarah for information. John B agrees with that statement, but he wasn’t expecting “love”.

Kiara makes a shocking ultimatum – it’s her or Sarah. John B says both, so both women walk out.

Episode 6 wants harmony in the group, so he devises a plan where he traps both girls on a boat so they can reconcile and put aside their differences. Kiara and Sarah are frustrated by this plotting by John B. While both are alone on a boat in the middle of a lake, Sarah gets stung by a jellyfish.

Kiara gets out a spliff to help with the pain. The two then have a discussion, and while high, Kiara asks Sarah why she ousted her. Sarah admits that when people get close to her, she feels trapped and bails on them. Sarah apologizes to Kiara and says she misses her.

In a game-changing moment, Kiara asks Sarah not to bail on John B, and Sarah makes that promise. They then laugh together as Kiara admits to ringing the police at Sarah’s birthday party when she was ousted years ago.

Sarah and Kiara tell John B and the others that they are willing to work together, so they head back to the well at night. Sarah and Kiara sneak into the house and power down the outside lights so the rest of the group can go inside. The boys throw down a rope and assist John B down the well. At first, John B. freaks out at finding skull remains, but then he believes he has found something.

Episode 6 closes with Mrs. Crain waking up and attacking Sarah and Kiara. Meanwhile, John B thinks he has found the treasure. Sarah and Kiara alert the others, so they start pulling John B out of the well. Mrs. Crain starts shooting aimlessly at them with a shotgun (she’s blind), and the entire crew manages to flee the house.

In the car, John B is covered in sewer mud, but he shows everyone a piece of gold — everyone freaks out in excitement and chants “full kook”.

You can tell that more danger lurks around the corner, and the celebrations are premature.
