The opening

Emily tries buying roses but the florist doesn’t understand her. A woman named Camille helps her with the language barrier. Camille tells Emily that Paris is a big city but it’s really a small town — she invites her to an art gallery and there will be a large crowd, including people from Chicago. The pair hug and accidentally kiss each other on the lips.

Omelette chat

Gabriel helps Emily with boxes that she has delivered from Chicago. He makes her an omelette. Gabriel asks her about marketing. Emily explains that the gift she got from her boss is wildly inappropriate.

Helping Sylvie

When Emily enters the office, Sylvie and Antoine are arguing and she wants to help. She tells them she’s off to see Randy Zimmer at an art gallery and it will help with efforts to get fragrance in his hotels. Emily tries to make out that they are mutual friends and not that she luckily bumped into Camille who invited her. She then gives Sylvie flowers. Emily is helping Sylvie in a tight spot and giving her credit for this idea.

However, there’s still nothing encouraging for the working relationship between Sylvie and Emily — it’s almost thematic of workplace bullying that the character has to overcome.

Be warned

Afterwards, Sylvie tells Emily she doesn’t need her help. Luc and another colleague ask Emily out for lunch — they ask her why she’s getting involved with Antoine and Sylvie. They know about the lingerie and warn her about Antoine. Later on, Mindy tells Emily she needs to take part in an affair.

The meeting

At the art gallery, Camille introduces Emily to Randy Zimmer. Emily tries to charm him and discusses having a fragrant smell. He’s impressed with her elevator pitch. The next day, Randy comes into the office for a meeting with Emily, Sylvie and Antoine. Randy is given a light lesson on perfumes. Sylvie and Antoine bicker a little — they all agree to a meal and Sylvie tells Emily to find a reservation for the night at a Michelin star restaurant. Antoine thanks Emily for the idea and asks if she liked his gift. She calls the gift inappropriate. Antoine says the gift was for her and she wanted her to feel sexy and powerful.

Of course, it is wholly inappropriate and a fireable offence.

Emily finds a Michelin star restaurant but she confirmed the wrong date on the booking — it’s almost impossible to book at a Michelin star restaurant on short notice which is why Sylvie asked her to book it. She rings Gabriel for help and asks to take a table. Gabriel cooks them all a meal. They talk hotel fragrances and how it needs to remind them of passion and romance. Randy wants to do business with them. Afterwards, Emily tells Gabriel that he was amazing.

The ending

Sylvie tells Emily that she’s done a good job. She invites her for drinks but she suggests she should spend time with Gabriel. Emily heads backs into the restaurant and kisses Gabriel and then heads back out. Across the road, Sylvie and Antoine are kissing. Emily then bumps into Camille and talks about how amazing the food was by her friend Gabriel. Camille says Gabriel is her boyfriend. Nothing is ever simple in Emily’s life.
