Dream Home Makeover season 2 is like any other reality show that involves changing a house’s appearance, but that doesn’t make it less absorbing.

Netflix’s Dream Home Makeover season 2 was released on the streaming service on January 1, 2021.

New Year’s Day really is the day of motivation and inspiration for Netflix. Bringing in meditation tools and minimalistic awareness is a sobering start to a year that we hope is more exciting than the dreaded 2020. Shea and Syd McGee return with their reality Netflix series — Dream Home Makeover season 2 is more or less the same approach.

And for homeowners, this is a dream. Imagine having the money and resources to ask experts like the McGees to come to your home, learn your personality and then reflect it in style. Dream Home Makeover is like any other reality show where it involves changing a house’s appearance, but that doesn’t make it less absorbing. You can feel the care from Studio McGee. They truly want their clients to be happy.

My only criticism is how Netflix sells the premise — calling it a makeover for “real families”. In the first episode, the family have an indoor basketball court. While we appreciate that house value doesn’t define a “real family”, the Netflix series would have benefitted from a diverse range of homes and demographics. The “American dream” glaze can only intrigue for so long before you realise that the series is a selling point for suburban nuclear families — it’s 2021; let’s be a little more wide-ranging.

But shooing that criticism aside, those who require inspiration will watch Dream Home Makeover season 2 and feel enthralled by imagination and wishing that Studio McGee will be visiting their home very soon. The series also demonstrates how Netflix has a knack for reading the room for significant days of the year.

You,ve done 250 home but you do not know how to hang the American flag? Your massive flag in the basketball court it hanging wrong. Stars/field is ALWAYS on the left when hanging vertical on a wall.
It makes me crazy when designers use the flag as an accessory and get it wrong. For all who service us in the military- please be respectful & hang correctly. Thanks!
