Summary

A romantic mini-season that will keep fans of Nadia and Guzman on edge.

This review of Netflix’s Elite Short Stories: Nadia Guzman contains no spoilers.

The first of four seasons of Elite Short Stories was a fresh and humorous take on what audiences may have expected from the team of Netflix. The second one to air is just as unconventional, yet for different reasons.

Elite Short Stories does not contain as many one-liners as the previous entry. Instead, what fans of the show receive are three emotional episodes that will keep watchers guessing as to the status of Nadia and Guzman’s relationship.

When the third season of Elite concluded, it saw Guzman and Nadia finally getting into a relationship. In Elite Short Stories: Nadia Guzman, the audience learns whether that relationship has survived. Unlike Elite Short Stories: Guzman Caye Rebe, which is enjoyable on its own merit. This version would likely only be suitable to those who fully invested in Nadia and Guzman’s relationship. Still, as it may be unlikely that those who do not watch Elite already will watch the Short Stories, it does not matter. It’s lovely to see that hard-core fans treated with the mini-seasons.

Elite Short Stories: Nadia Guzman does not provide the audience with solid answers to where Nadia and Guzman may head in the fourth season. Instead, those watching will be left to make their own conclusions as to what the characters’ feelings are for each other. With a lot of interpretation needed, it prepares the audience for season four.

Elite Short Stories: Guzman Caye Rebe was a lot more fun to watch due to its increased level of drama. Yet Elite Short Stories: Nadia Guzman tugs at the heartstrings more effectively. Regardless of preference, the second installment of Elite Short Stories will keep audience members happy. That is, until the fourth season airs and we discover what will happen to Nadia and Guzman.

Although the episodes are short in length, the execution is great. As was the case with the previous Short Stories, these episodes prove to be better than most other shows, making watching them even more delightful!
