Will the kiss be forgotten amid Parent’s Day?

Episode 3 of Young Royals starts with Wilhelm helping Simon play the piano. Conversation soon reverts to their kiss; Wilhelm says he believes they should stay friends and forget about the kiss. Felice and Sara are with the horses once again. With Parent’s Day approaching, Sara tells Felice that her mother will be attending but not her father because he’s a “bad person.” Wilhelm’s Royal Parents won’t be coming either as they have a state visit.

Despite what he said, Wilhelm is restless and can’t stop stalking Simon on social media. After gym class, Wilhelm asks Simon to keep him company over the weekend whilst the other students will be away with their parents. It seems like the kiss won’t be forgotten about after all!

Simon receives a letter from Hillerska Boarding School; the private lessons will cost 5,500 Kronas. (£466, €542, $647). Desperate for money, he asks August when he will receive the money he spent to get him booze. August blows him off and tells him not to spend money he doesn’t have.

Parents are coming

Parent’s Day arrives. As the students greet their parents, after she arrives late, August greets his mother and a man called Rickard, who had previously gone bankrupt; if the gossip among the parents is to be believed. Felice shows her mother her dorm room. However, her mother is more interested in how Wilhelm is and how he feels towards Felice.

Spotting Simon and Sara, August tells them that lunch isn’t open for everyone today as it’s only for “boarders” and not “non-res students.” Wilhelm, meanwhile, hides in his room and calls his brother Eric. When Wilhelm says that he now plans to stay at school, Eric senses that the reason Wilhelm has had a change of heart is because Wilhelm has a crush on someone.

During the parent’s lunch, Simon introduces Wilhelm to his parents. Discussing future goals, August states he wants to continue the family tradition and follow in his father’s footsteps. With conversation switched to horses, Sara tells all that she rides Rousseau as Felice doesn’t want to. As a result, Felice leaves in tears. Wilhelm comforts her. She gets the wrong idea and kisses him, only to be more upset when he doesn’t return her advances.

August’s mother tells him that she is unable to pay for his tuition. She suggests he sells some of his assets. An argument ensues, so August tells his mother she can leave as he will remain at Hillerska for the weekend. Simon chases after August, asking once again for the money. August pushes him away. As a result, Simon turns to his friends outside of the boarding school to help him retrieve the money.

The Aftermath of the Parent’s Visit

Later that night, Simon asks for the money again. August walks away, so Simon attacks him as his friends watch. August reveals that he is also broke. Simon remarks that he doesn’t care, and he wants paying. August is left crying in the field.

With the night coming to a close, Felice visits a half-naked August, and before long, they are making out. The following morning, Wilhelm tells Simon that August will be staying at Hillerska for the weekend. The solution? Wilhelm suggests that he stays with Simon and his family in Bjarstad.

Students are on their phones and whispering about Wilhelm. Before he can find out why Wilhelm is asked to go to the office. Wilhelm is handed a phone. On the other side is his mother, who tells him that his brother Erik has died in a car accident.

Now that Erik has died, it means that Wilhelm is next in line for the throne! Will this change his situation at Hillerska as Young Royals goes into the last three episodes?
