Hit & Run season 1, episode 2 recap

Believing that Segev is drunk, the patrol officers have detained him in the police car. With Tali arriving, she tells the officers to treat Segev’s house as a crime scene. But with no body matching the description that Segev gave in the morgues, there appears to be no sign of the man that Segev killed.

Remi is questioned by the authorities. He maintains that he was driving the car and that his car was stolen, alongside his kid’s iPad. Desperate for answers, Segev asks Danielle’s friend, Syd, if she knows who the “Assaf” guy is that keeps calling. She doesn’t. With the funeral in less than 24 hours, Danielle’s parents “Martin & Marcia” are unable to fly through. The reason? Martin says that it’s because Marcia is too ill and he needs to stay with her.

Following Danielle’s funeral, Segev spots Assaf watching from a distance. He chases after him but is unable to reach him before Assaf speeds off. During the wake, no one, especially Segev’s mother, can understand why Danielle’s own parents have missed her funeral. Meanwhile, Tali isn’t overly sure whether Remi was in the car that hit Danielle. She suddenly thinks back to Remi’s comment about the iPad and wonders if it has GPS.

Segev confronts Syd. He knows she knows who Assaf is. Trapped into a corner, Syd reveals Assaf is a businessman and has a “thing” for dancers. And after he dated Danielle briefly, he became obsessed with her. Later on, Syd meets with Assaf and warns him that Segev is asking questions.

Tali has tracked the iPad and find that Remi wasn’t inside the car. Tracking the men who were inside the car, Tali learns they have Hungarian Passports and have since fled to London. From what she can gather, they came to Tel Aviv, stole a car and then fled. Yet, her breakthrough comes at a cost as she is warned off the case as if it made it to trial, her involvement would compromise the case.

The ending

Back home, Segev is disturbed by Syd. She claims she had seen the Hungarian Drivers before when she was at a bar with Danielle. Taking Segev to the bar, he nearly beats up the local drug dealer, Uri, who maintains that the two men were American, not Hungarian. Needing help, Segev contacts old pal Ron. He tells Ron that he believes that Danielle got killed by Isaac Katkove. (Segev had trained with Isaac in Mexico after they were in the army. The relationship turned sour when Isaac went to prison and blamed Segev for it).

Segev and Tali are nearly killed by a bomb planted in his front door. After learning that Isaac was released from Sing Sing nine months ago, Segev states he will be getting on the next flight to New York.
