Hit & Run season 1, episode 3 recap

After landing in New York, Segev goes to Ron’s apartment, which, by the way, is overloaded with a lot of pills. Segev says he wants to meet Danielle’s killers in prison, but that proves useless as they were released from police custody two hours ago. Tali says that someone in the NYPD must have messed up. (Or purposely let the killers go free, more like).

Segev visits editor Naomi Hick (played by Sanaa Lathan). Former lovers when she lived in Cartagena, they lost contact a few years ago. It’s here that we learn that Segev and his lieutenant, Isaac, trained Mexican troops to fight the cartels. But after some horrid behaviour from Isaac, it’s presumed Segev led to Isaac being imprisoned.

Segev and Ron go to the memorial service that Danielle’s parents (Martin and Marcia Wexler) are holding for her in their family home. With plenty of people present, it’s odd how much Marcia has bounced back from her illness. Naomi warns Ron from going after Isaac. She’s learned that aside from owning a gay sports bar and a bowling alley (fancy), he’s got a mob behind him and has trafficked for years. Naomi states that she wants nothing to do with whatever Segev is chasing.

Learning that Isaac has a very “good friend” (i.e. boyfriend) called Benny, Segev and Ron kidnap him and have him take them to Isaac’s club. Face to face with Segev, Isaac denies knowing that Danielle was Segev’s wife. He does admit that he made the arrangements to have Danielle killed by hiring the drivers but was unaware of who Danielle actually was. Isaac wonders if someone is trying to make it appear that he killed Danielle for personal revenge. Segev wants to meet the drivers that killed Danielle. Before long, there’s a shootout within Isaac’s club. Before Segev breaks the neck of one of the drivers, he learns he got paid 20k to kill Danielle.

The ending

With Henry out of town, Naomi allows Segev and Ron to stay at her place. That night, whilst looking through his wedding videos, Segev spots the man who attacked him in Israel among the footage. Rushing to the Wexler home, he learns that a completely different family lives there.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??? So Danielle’s family are involved? The memorial was a set-up, so does that mean that the people we met earlier aren’t even her family?
