Locke & Key season 2, episode 9 recap
Gabe pays an unwanted visit to Kinsey where he threatens to kill Nina unless Kinsey joins him. Apparently, the only one he wants is her. Bode warns Jamie that they both need to protect their parents from Gabe. As Duncan voices his regrets over the pain that the keys have created, Kinsey tells him and Tyler what Gabe has demanded from her.
After Javi watches Eden from afar, Gabe instructs Javi to kill Eden, But she foils the plan and steals a key, just as Tyler and Duncan make a key. When Kinsey and Scot embrace each other, Scot reveals that he got into film school but chose against going. Their conversation is interrupted when the fireplace blows out and turns ice cold. With similar events happening to Kinsey, such as her tea turning cold and the mirror freezing up, they wonder what is happening.
Upon following the freeze, Kinsey and Scot are led to a birdbox within a cemetery. Finding a key inside, they believe that it’s Chamberlain Locke helping them. When in actual fact, it’s Sam Lesser guiding them. Gabe informs Josh that Eden is a demon and is attempting to trick him into becoming a demon. This is when Gabe puts on the crown, causing several demons to appear which then causes the cave to collapse. But Josh uses his flashlight to defeat the demons. With both Bode and Jamie outside, they help Josh as he digs his way out of the cave. But within moments, Josh loses all memories of the magic.
The ending
Tyler finds Jackie. She asks Tyler to let her in, further claiming that they could be so happy together. When they hug, Tyler sticks a key in the back of a neck. It appears that she’s freed of the demon! Just to be sure, Tyler asks Jackie to take a key from him. And she accepts! But then, Jackie begins to cry black tears. Something is wrong. She then collapses and dies.
The closing moments of “Alpha & Omega” reveal that Dodge has reemerged from the cave, and she breaks her way through the rubble.
