Six couples are tested through trust and temptation to win a jackpot of 100,000 Euros.

This review of Netflix reality series Love Never Lies season 1 does not contain spoilers.

Love Never Lies aka Amor Con Fianza is the latest reality series that sees couples trying to prove their love is the purest for a cash prize. Produced by Fremantle, this reality show is hosted by Mónica Naranjo concerning the lives of six couples placed in an isolated environment. Sounds familiar? Because it is. This format isn’t new, it’s nothing original, but it is still full of high stakes and drama that has you hooked to the screen. Netflix has released the first six episodes of the show and the season finale is going to be out on November 18, 2021.

What is different from other series is that these couples are subjected to Eye Detect, a revolutionary detector that analyses the involuntary eye movements triggered when one lies. Telling the truth can ‘win’ you cash but if you lie, there are consequences. Winning this show can win the couple a generous cash prize of up to 100,000 euros — which proves not to be easy. This reality show pushes the couples’ trust to the limits. It is filled with love, lies, jealousy, and betrayal.

In a gorgeous villa, this idyllic setting is a perfect contrast to the heartache and drama that unfolds. Prepare for a lot of sex and intimate scenes, some very raunchy and some which felt staged. Although, for me, there is something weird and awkward about watching couples, who are strangers to one another, airing their private lives and then competing with one another when we now all know their relationships are flawed and borderline toxic, then they’re all sleeping together in one villa. It does feel slightly dirty and creepy. As a singleton, this makes me happy to be single.

All the episodes have both English and Spanish audio and subtitles. The runtime for each episode ranges from 50 minutes to over an hour, so this is a series to sink your teeth into. You can easily connect and quickly find your favorite couple to win. Again, the format isn’t anything new, this is a reality show that is banking on the contestants cheating, having sex on camera, and the drama of people turning against one another. To me, in some ways, these shows are quite cruel. I’d recommend any fans of Love Island, Big Brother, or The Bachelor to watch this series. It has all the love, sex, and drama you could need.
