Will there be a season 2 of Netflix Tear Along the Dotted Line

This article discusses whether there will be a season 2 of the Netflix series Tear Along the Dotted Line and its renewed or canceled status. It does not contain spoilers.

One of the surprise releases in November was Netflix animated series Tear Along the Dotted Line. At Ready Steady Cut, we gave it more than a favorable review. The story follows an anxious character named Zero, going through an early-life crisis, pondering his choices and where he is in the present. He’s not meant to be a likable character, but the animation and its presentation of social anxiety are spot-on. At only six chapters, Tear Along the Dotted Line was a welcome surprise in the adult animation genre.

Will there be a season 2 of Netflix’s Tear Along the Dotted Line – renewed or canceled status

Status: TBC

Judging by our website data, the animated series performed better than expected. The Italian animated series appears to be a dark-horse hit. Also, Netflix has a habit of staying loyal to animated series, presumably because the risks are not as heavy with production and budget.

We also have to consider the story. Like many animations before, Tear Along the Dotted Line does not necessarily benefit from a linear plot. It’s quite a hectic foretelling of Zero’s mind and can be varied and easy to expand on for the writers. It’s not like the fans will have a set of expectations for the story.

However, at present, there is no indication whether there will be a Netflix continuation, and based on the reception so far to the series, this would be not very reassuring. And with Tear Along the Dotted Line being a new entry for Netflix, there’s no kind of data or firm prediction that can be made in whether it can be renewed.

In the meantime, we will have to wait and see, but we will be sure to keep you updated at Ready Steady Cut as soon as we know anything.
