One thing was sure — the finale for this series was always going to be madness. This is a cat and mouse adventure to end the season. The question is, will there be a second installment?

Framed! A Sicilian Murder Mystery season 1, episode 6 recap – the ending explained

Episode 6 opens with Salvo and Valentino with Tonino — he immediately wants their phones and breaks them so they can’t be tracked. Fortunately, Valentino plants a GPS track on their vehicle so the police can find them. The police trail their car with the brother-in-law inside.

And then we get a random flashback. Tonino tells Salvo and Valentino why he’s called The Useless Thing by the Holy Father. When he was younger, he used to stutter more than he did now, and the Holy Father slapped him for it. The kids used to chant at him, “The Useless Thing.”

Back to the present, the two men are escorted to the mob boss, and it is surprisingly Martorana, the concierge from the start of the series. Meanwhile, Tonino has created a decoy to confuse the police. Martorana is confident and oozes power.

Martorana reads out Gambino’s diary, which talks about taxes and how he fraudulently took a cut of The Holy Father’s earnings. And then, one day, he was served an astronomical bill by a stranger that threatened to tell The Holy Father. Gambino tried to cooperate with the police. Martorana tells Salvo and Valentino that he has no traitors in his home, and he states that they will both be dead.

Outside, the police argue about whether to intervene after learning of the decoy — it’s obvious that Salvo and Valentino’s lives are at risk. Tonino turns up, and Martorana is annoyed. The police then raid the place, led by Inspector Jackson, and a shoot-out ensues. After the shoot-out ends, Jackson finds Valentino hidden and kisses him. Salvo finds his ex Ester – she realizes she loves him now, but Salvo tells her he can’t have anything with her.

The bad news is Martorana escaped with Tonino.

The ending

A title screen then comes up with “Some Time Later” — Salvo and Valentino go back to everyday lives. On the radio, they are discussing whether there will be a new mafia war. Salvo asks Valentino why they were called to Gambino’s apartment by him if his TV was working. The two argue about it and accidentally run a man over.

They are back to square one — having to cover up a crime scene. Valentino turns over the body, and it’s Martorana — they’ve found him. Tonino comes out and points a gun at them both. A man with a horse and carriage delivering fruit rides by, ignoring the situation.

Martorana wakes up…he isn’t dead! This leaves a tease as to whether there will be a continuation.
