Summary

Just as it seems that Neil would remain the likely suspect in Lisa’s murder, he gets seemingly ruled out. But if Neil didn’t kill Lisa, who did? An appearance at the end of the episode could suggest that Anna will be in a lot of danger in the next episode.

The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window episode 4 recap

The fourth episode of The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window starts with Emma who jumps into the lake by herself. Although Neil has no issue with it, his wife (and Emma’s mother) Meredith gets concerned. Neil and Meredith argue, and after he calls her controlling, he pushes her into the lake, and she drowns. Mystery solved? No, it’s just Anna’s imagination once again. As for Anna, she watches news reports that determine that Meredith’s death was an accident. Although, after she learns that Meredith has a sister, Hilary, she soon tracks her down.

After Sloane sneaks up on Anna, Anna lies about going to another support group session. In actual fact, Anna visits Hilary with the pretense that she knew Meredith from pottery class. Anna learns that Hilary suspects Neil of cheating on Meredith. But that’s not the juiciest part! Emma’s school teacher, Ms Patrick, died weeks after Meredith.

The ending

Upon Anna’s investigations into Ms Patrick’s death, she learns that Neil was on a school trip in which Ms Patrick somehow fell to her death from a lighthouse. Anna speculates to herself whether Neil was romantically involved with Ms Patrick and threw her to her death. When Anna returns home, she pours a fresh glass of wine and spots Neil with what she believes to be Lisa’s body. She follows him, although he soon spots her. After they argue, Neil reveals that it’s a ventriloquist dummy that he is carrying, not Lisa’s body as Anna believed. Neil states that “laughter’s the best medicine”, and he is about to perform a show. Although, Neil tells Anna not to tell anyone.

In the closing moments of the fifth episode of The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, the FBI Department of Records calls Anna. They say nothing has come up on Lisa, but as they are about to reveal something about Rex (Benjamin Levy Aguilar), he grabs Anna from behind and drags her inside of her house.

Now that The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window is at the halfway mark, it’s certainly proven to be a wild watch. Who has killed Lisa? Right now, I’m going to go with the bonkers theory that Lisa isn’t even dead. But The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window is so crazy that anything could happen! And I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
