One of the main themes of a Harlan Coben series is that eventually, there will be one significant twist. We have to wait for it and remain intrigued in the meantime.
Hold Tight episode 2 recap
Episode 2 opens up with the bin men finding a dead body in the trash — a middle-aged woman—another tragedy in the community. The police do not know who the middle-aged woman is. Anna is also missing since she was attacked outside the underground nightclub. Her daughter is worried and rings her father, Michal, to tell him her mother is not home. Adam is missing too, so Kaja is also concerned and tries to speak to her friends about it, but they are indifferent to the situation. The police investigate the dead woman and conclude she isn’t a prostitute.
Michal asks a friend to check out Anna’s home to see if she’s there, and she isn’t. He’s apprehensive. He then learns that Adam is missing too. Michal finds Anna at the hospital, beaten and bruised but alive. They emotionally embrace. Anna is concerned that Adam is nowhere to be seen.
Michal and Anna investigate the spot where Anna was attacked, but they cannot call the police because it hasn’t been 48 hours since Adam has gone missing. Meanwhile, Kaja’s parents ask their daughter if they know anything about Adam’s disappearance, but she gets agitated by their line of questioning.
The ending
The woman (Renata) looking for Marianna is kidnapped by the same people who took Marianna. She’s thrown into a van unconscious and driven off. When she wakes up, she’s tied up, and the man asks her a few questions. He asks her about Marianna and wonders if she has sent her anything. When Renata asks why he’s doing this, he says, “out of love.” But out of love for who?
