Shining Girls season 1, episode 2 recap

Kirby goes to Marcus and asks him how they are married. She’s confused! And after Howard speaks to Dan, they learn that radium is inside the murder victim. Dan tells Kirby that it’s problematic that they work together as she is his source. Kirby reveals that when she got attacked, a “Bee Happy Bar” matchbook was left inside of her. After one of the reporters does some “basic questioning”, Kirby goes to visit her Mom. Except, her Mom is now a religious singer.

As the reporter reveals that it was Pavel that was the one who was stalking Julia, and that’s why he is in prison, they question if that is the actual case. After Kirby returns home late, her husband, Marcus, will not say a single thing as he does not want to. But he says that if she wants to talk about it, he will.

After Jul-Snook awakes to the sound of items being thrown, Harper leaves her a creepy message. Once Jul-Snook gets murdered, several paparazzi remain outside of her house. Kirby sneaks into the house in return and the mysterious male claims that he is outside. He rings Harper, which will be 18 minutes before the police arrive. (It gives off a Scream vibe).

The ending

After Kirby recognizes the voice as “him”, the tape references suddenly signal “all of them”. As the ending suggests that there are more of them, the freak, Harper, goes to bed with body paint covering his bed.

So, not the greatest amount of action happens in this episode. However, there’s still a lot to think about. Who will live? And who will die? This show is a massive mi****ck. It’s hard to completely understand what the hell is going on.

It’s pretty mad what happens in this show! And therefore it’d be hard to really recap/predict what could happen next. And that is why Shining Girls will probably become one of the best shows of the year.
