Growth. How much do you feel like you have personally grown? It’s a difficult thing to measure, right? As we reach the end of the sixth season, we have to ask ourselves, how much have Anne and Kate grown?

Workin’ Moms season 6, episode 13 recap – the ending explained

The finale opens up with a dream; Kate serves breakfast for Nathan Jr and her children. She’s a housewife. She plants her head in the oven. And then she wakes up in reality, and she’s irritable with her children. Nathan gives Kate her phone back, but he tells her he wants no trouble.

Meanwhile, Anne tells her husband that she’s going back to anger management and wants to bring him to the group session for support. However, Lionel rejects the idea that frustrates Anne, forcing her to storm out of their home. Later on, their daughter speaks to Lionel and encourages him to make an effort with her mother.

At work, Kate receives bad news — she will not be doing the “closing speech” for the PR event after Sloane made a decision. Rosie will be doing the speech, so Kate wants to hear it. She constantly criticizes it and tells her that every word is wrong. Kate speaks to Sloane and tells her that she must do the speech. Sloane does not think Kate is in the right headspace to do the speech, but she convinces her otherwise.

Anne attends anger management, and she’s downbeat that her husband did not attend. She admits to the group that her anger hurts people and that she needs to show more compassion. She opens up more and reveals that when it comes to her family, something “snaps” inside of her, as she wants to protect them. But then, Lionel attends, giving the family hope.

The owner of Goldie attends the Rebecca Anderson event, and Kate warns her she will not like what she sees. The daughter (Ginnie) of the owner speaks at the event against her mother, but the owner does not care and walks out. Kate has a change of heart and tells Rosie that she can do the speech.

Kate instead decides to see Nathan Jr for his important night at prom. She tells him that he can live with his Aunt if he wishes. The pair hug it out. Kate tells her husband that she needs to change things, so she doesn’t miss out on the family. Nathan Jr returns home, and he has decided to stay in their home rather than move in with Aunt Cassandra.

The ending

As the episode ends:

  • Kate tells Rosie she wants her to be a partner in the business.
  • Sloane gives birth to her baby.
  • Crystal gives birth to her baby with the encouragement of Val — she looks forward to being a grandmother.
  • Kate rings Anne, and they admit not talking to each other is not working — they agree to “grow together,” but as they have this conversation, Anne sees Heather in the distance and begins to scream — we can only assume Heather ran Anne over.

Episode 13 measures how far these characters have grown while offering a final twist to lean into the next season.
