Green Mothers’ Club season 1, episode 15 recap

Episode 15 opens with Geon-u getting hounded by the press for his criminal actions. Meanwhile, Yeong-mi gives Eun-pyo more evidence of her husband’s actions so she can hand it to Jae-ung, who works for the police. She claims she has been deceived, and Geon-u has abused her family. Eun-pyo tells her she is courageous, but Yeong-mi states she had no choice. And she is right; she didn’t have any alternative unless she wanted to be investigated herself for covering up evidence.

Eun-pyo grabs clothes from Chun-hui’s apartment and meets her friend to hand them over. However, when they convene in a car park, Chun-hui looks hurried. The women catch up anyway, and Chun-hui expresses the woes of her marriage. Yun-ju sees Eun-pyo with Chun-hui, and she is surprised to see them together. Chun-hui explains her daughter’s actions of lying and how they got her diagnosed and started her on therapy. Yun-ju softens her aggressive approach and joins both women for a drink.

Chun-hui’s husband is under pressure from the drug dealers to source the medication from the hospital. Meanwhile, a drunk Chun-hui bumps into one of her criminal acquaintances in front of Eun-pyo and Yun-ju. Her husband arrives and spills some drugs on the street. It looks like a dodgy situation in front of her friends; Chun-hui has an intense argument with her husband as tensions heighten. Yun-ju goes home and asks her husband if she has met up with Chun-hui again. He claims he only met up with her because she needed medication, but he never provided any. The next day, Eun-pyo meets up with Chun-hui to check up on her, but she doesn’t ask her questions, deciding not to press her. She can feel her friend is stressed and emotional.

Flashbacks show how Louis tried to replace Rhea with Jin-ha, but he didn’t feel the same for his wife. In the present, he tells Rhea that his wife has died, and he was afraid she’d run away if he told her the truth. But Rhea is understanding, and he embraces Louis. Louis tries to introduce his son Henry to Rhea, but he’s freaked out and wants to go to his grandmother’s house. What a strange storyline!

Eun-pyo learns from police officer Dong-sik (by looking at her husband’s phone) that the person providing the criminals drugs from the hospital is Chun-hui and she is panicky about this revelation, so she rings Chun-hui and lets her know that the police suspect her and there’s a warrant. And then, Yun-jun rings Eun-pyo’s husband Jae-ung and raises her suspicions about Chun-hui and her husband. Chun-hui is shaking. Her breathing is short as she is worried about going to prison. She asks Eun-pyo if she can help send her children to Canada so her sister can look after them and promises she will be back to do her time in jail.

But with Eun-pyo being unresponsive, Chun-hui rings Yun-ju’s husband Man-su and asks him to lend her money. Desperate times lead to desperate measures. Man-su is caught in two minds. However, when he meets Chun-hui, he reveals he went to a loan shark because he doesn’t have the money to help, but then decided against helping her; he couldn’t do it to his wife and family — he sobs profusely and apologizes, but Chun-hui hugs him and is understanding.

Eun-pyo meets Chun-hui, and she is stuck; she has no idea what to do. She feels like it is over. Eun-pyo gives her an envelope of five million won in cash. Chun-hui doesn’t want to accept it, knowing she’s putting Eun-pyo and her family further in debt. Eun-pyo insists she takes it so she can take her children to safety as a priority.

Chun-hui meets her mother, and they are both distraught about the situation they find themselves in. Eun-pyo then drives Chun-hui and her children to the airport. When Eun-pyo gets home, her husband asks her if she’s close to Chun-hui and if she has noticed anything suspicious about her. Eun-pyo states she hasn’t seen anything that would warrant any suspicion.

Later in the night, Chun-hui rings Eun-pyo from the airport and thanks her for all the help. She promises to come back once her children are with her sister. They promise to see each other again. However, it feels like Chun-hui has no plans to return. When Eun-pyo puts her phone down and turns around, her husband Jae-ung stands there; he heard it all and feels betrayed by her. Eun-pyo states she felt terrible for Chun-hui because they are both mothers. She insists Chun-hui will return once her children are safe, but Jae-ung is not in the mood to play games, and he tells his colleague to track Chun-hui down at the airport.

The ending

The penultimate episode ends in dramatic circumstances.

Eun-pyo tries to warn Chun-hui by ringing her, but she’s asleep at the airport. She leaves a voice message warning Chun-hui that she’s on a “no-fly” list, but Chun-hui never hears it and forgets to pick up her phone. Jae-ung arrives with the police, but Eun-pyo finds Chun-hui first and tries to help them escape. However, Jae-ung and his officers find them all — he looks at Eun-pyo with a disappointed face. Jae-ung walks towards Chun-hui to arrest her, but Eun-pyo stands in his way. This is a real vow of loyal friendship, but will it work in Eun-pyo’s and Chun-hui’s favor?
