Summary
Tensions rise as the Umbrella siblings squabble, Klaus battles his own demons, and the Academies try to distinguish the Kugelblitz in a shocking and turbulent chapter.
Season three draws ever closer to its conclusion, with the Kugelblitz still raging and the Umbrella family drastically falling apart at the seams. This latest installment is chocked-full of delicious, apocalyptic chaos, unpredictable twists, and a whole smorgasbord of emotions—all to keep you lucky viewers glued to your seats. With so much to unpack, let’s get straight down to business.
Poor Klaus has been manipulated and experimented upon by his disgusting dad for far too long now, yet he still desperately seeks Reginald’s approval. The father tortures Klaus, killing him over and over again in the hopes of training his foster son to hone these skills and master his immortality. Their training sessions take a comedic turn, though, with Klaus getting run over numerous times in spellbinding slow motion. He manages to shorten the gap between death and resurrection with each subsequent head-on collision, becoming reanimated at a quicker and quicker pace.
Whilst Klaus is toyed with, the rest of the Umbrella siblings try to save the world, but they can’t even communicate with each other, let alone work together. Allison’s violent actions and unhinged mental state are leading to some weighty consequences. She killed Harlan and now argues with Viktor. Then there’s the unbelievably immoral actions of step-brother Luther. He’s still annoyed that Allison hypnotized him into a fleeting affair, and she continually uses her abilities for her own selfish ends. It all makes for some truly tense moments, Allison going psychotic and the rest just watching in dumb-struck awe.
Ben assembles the troops for one last-ditch assault on the Kugelblitz. Viktor, Lila, Sloane, and Christopher surround the swirling vortex down in the cellar. They create a force field around the Kugelblitz, condensing the black hole until it is small enough to fit inside Christopher’s hardy cube. Simple as that, right? The next shockwave arrives right on time, although it amounts to nothing more than a fart out of the concrete box.
Their plan is a success, and the Academies both party in style; cue Queen’s “Another One Bites The Dust” and some awkward dad dancing. It’s a real feel-good moment, bolstered by Luther proposing to his sweetheart Sloane. More monumental news comes when Lila announces to Diego that she is pregnant and wants to start a family with him. Stanley was just a test to see how he would react. The knife-wielding rebel is unsure of the proposition. But all seems well, for the time being, the siblings are relieved, and the world keeps on revolving.
Any of you perceptive viewers out there may have noticed that there are still three more episodes of this series to go, so the fun can’t just be over that soon. Well, you are correct. That warm, fuzzy feeling deep inside is short-lived, to say the least, and tragedy strikes momentarily. Christopher explodes, letting forth an immense shockwave, which instantly kills Fei, who was standing right next to the floating cube. The Kugelblitz begins to grow and grow in size, dwarfing the Academy in moments. Five quick time hops, trying to save his companions, whilst the superheroes that remain just duck for cover. This totally unanticipated event really comes out of nowhere to disrupt all that feel-good energy. Tune in for the next installment to see who survived and who perished. The death count just keeps on rising in season three and that Kugelblitz just won’t go away.
